USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best

Is the Hiby FC3 bright or not? I read that it's measurements are soo good. Thats why I am tiptoeing between the FC3 and the iBasso DC05. Currently I don't have a need for a 4.4mm port like in the FiiO KA3.
I have the FC3 and it sounds neutral to me with my HD600 and etymotic kids 5. The FC3 is better than the headphone amp of the SSL 2 interface.

Yes KA3 is very good and I am now using it as my reference.
It is crystal clear and detailed but not analytical nor bright.
Any comparison with ibasso DC05 ?

Today I got myself a nice cheap DAC. The Creative SoundBlaster play 4. Very nice device. It is low powered enough to drive IEMs without hissing and can connect to the Nintendo Switch. Thats the best part. Now I can use low impedance IEMs on my Switch.
Really? I got one of those for my ps4 and returned it the next day. I could barely hear it at all, even after i passed it through my Little Dot mk2 lol

Did you try this Creative SoundBlaster play 4, on a smartphone ?
If yes, how does it sound?

Yes, I used it with UAPP. You need to set it to Android + Switch support mode first. Supports up to 24bit 96khz and sounds warm. Slight bass boost and sparkling highs, basically very slight v-shape sound.

Did you tried setting it into mobile use mode?
Yep, i even called creative customer service to make sure i wasn't missing anything. For my gaming/tv audio, I decided to go with the Fiio Taishan (also called D03K) and run it through my LD. If you already have an amp, i think the D03K is the best gaming DAC you can get for 20 bucks. It just takes a little work to get the most out of it.
My gaming audio path:
PS4>HDMI>TV(pass)>Coax>D03K>AMP
You could go PS4>Optical>D03K>AMP, but optical only has the bandwidth for 24bit/96kHz. Coax can reach 24bit/192kHz, which is this DACs max sample rate.
Woops, I just went on a rant again. . .

Hi all,

I could sure use your help. I've been out of the hifi game for a while, but recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE phone. Like most newer phones these days, it doesn't have a 3.5mm input built in.

I am looking for a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter with warm, V-shaped sound signature and a wide-sound stage (or as large as one). An adapter that has good build quality, no interference, and that doesn't use a lot of battery power would be a big plus too! I intend to power my old DUNU DN-1000 IEMs (whose sound signature that I love: https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/dunu-dn-1000.16698/). I would like to stay under $50, but can stretch my budget if there is something that blows others out of the water.

Based on my quick searching of this thread, it seems this one is the closest to what I'm after - DD Electronics TC35: https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/dd-electronics-tc-35.23739/

Are there others that I should be considering that better complement my preferred sound? Ty for your guidance!

~ im2bz2p :)
