USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best

Hello everyone, recently discovered type-c dac's and loving the results im getting with the Apple adaptor with my ibasso it01. How much of an improvement would I get if I went forward with say a DC02 or some other ones mentioned in this thread? People with expensive adaptors, have the cable broken?

Cables always break. It's just a matter of what kind of stress and how often you subject it to. For me even 200€ cables have broken if I have had to subject them to constant pulling / bending/ twisting.Usually they break at the joints, where the cable is connected to the connector. Some cables you can fix, if you have xacto knife, soldering iron and heat glue. Some are almost impossible (or very difficult) to fix, due to the way they've been constructed.

That's why I keep my USB-C dongle purchases to below $50USD for mobile use as that is the situation where at least in my use, the wear and tear is the greatest. For desktop non-mobile static installations it's a different matter, of course.

I have the DC02 and I don't think it's 'absolutely terrible' as claimed by stativV3.....measurements is just one aspect of what makes a device sound good (or not), a lot depends on the users, and I can say I'm one happy user. The DC02 isn't my only portable audio gear though, I do have a HFM HN901s and a Cayin N5iiS, and a whole bunch of IEM's.

Hey StaticV3 do you work for E1DA? You seem to undermine every other dongle? Measurements are one thing but actual sound doesn’t only depend on SINAD.
I have not received a single dollar from E1DA and I don't plan on doing so anytime soon. In my experience, better measurements have always translated to better sound quality, so that's what I'm sticking to.
No need to flail around wild accusations...

Specs:
- Dual CS43131 DAC chips.
- Ultra-low noise floor: <0.9µV.
- Output voltage: 2Vrms(300 Ohms), 1.61Vrms(32 Ohms).
- Output power: 80mW @ 32 Ohms.
- Signal to Noise ratio: 127dB.
- USB Type-C Interface.
- 3.5mm Headphone Output.

Looks interesting, dual DAC chips too. Output power@ 32 ohms looks a bit weak though, so maybe only for low sensitivity IEMs?
