So far these have been the ideal IEM for me. I am seeking an upgrade, but only because I want to upgrade, not because I want a different signature, etc. So, please recommend a set of IEMs that are similar, but better. Tough task, I know.

IE8, Monster Turbine Pro series.

I'd second the IE8, if you like the Sennheiser house sound.  Fit's a bit more awkward but fine when you get used to it.

If you love the mids, I'd go for Shure SE535. Best mids that I've heard, w/ bass and treble that has more clarity than the IE7. If you love the bass of the IE7 and the general darker feel of the music, I'd go for the IE8 which does bass really well.

W3 is a fun phone but almost the opposite of the IE7. I find the mids recessed and nowhere near as lush as the IE7; the treble is much more exciting on the W3 though! The W3 has a v-shaped frequency with lots of bass impact and sharp treble.

I auditioned 535s for a while but find bass to be lacking for my tastes. Not a bass head but do need more presence. What about W4s?

you wont find more bass on the w4 than on the shures. i had both and the w4 in general is more precise, but the shure is  a little more fun because of more forward upper mids.
