Hello guys, so...

I have a Beyer DT770 (80ohms) and want to upgrade to a headphone open and neutral, at first I thought the HD600, but I saw other interesting headphones like akg K702, DT880 and HE-400, but maybe some Grados do not know ...

want to spend up to U$ 300,00 - 320,00.

I will use on my computer with the amp o2.

Thanks :)

Stick with a second hand HD600. Spend the rest of the money on more music.

The DT880 can sound pretty shway from the right amp. You have the wrong amp.

K702, what bass?

Grados, neutral, since when?

I cant get behind orthos. The feeling of using consumers as product testers, after charging full retail is too pervasive in the market segment.

Might add Audio Technica ATH-AD900X to your list.

what would be the right amp for DT 880?

I'm curious to hear some grado's, never had the opportunity to listen.

how would it compare to the HD600?

My vote goes for the hd600 as well, especially since you have the o2, a neutral amp. And if/when you ever upgrade, the hd600 will scale the most out of all them imo.

How would it (AD900X) compare to the HD600?

Not sure on exact comparison. I own the ATH-A900X (closed) version and really like the sound.
So I would figure the AD900X open version would sound better and it's also fairly cheaper then the other headphones your looking at.

For the DT880 I would go with something with IEC-standard 120ohm output impedance.

For sure try Grados for curiosity, I like them a lot for how they sound, they just aren't neutral.

I'll get a HD600, but I want to know how is the sound of AD700 (as recommended by your soundstage for gaming)

I guess the ATH-AD700 really light bass makes it easier to hear footsteps in a game.
The AD700 is a fine headphone for listening to very mellow music, sitting around with a glass (or two) of wine, in a relaxing chair, maybe listening to Newage or Soundscape music.
Personally I might use my AD700s one or two hours in a whole year, lots of my other headphone are preferred for listening to music or watching movies (never played FPS).
So get the AD700 for gaming and get other headphone(s) for everything else.
Sennheiser HD5XX series seem to do well for gaming also.

I do not play much, but it would be cool to have a pretty big soundstage in your ear ^ ^
