So, is anyone else here at CES 2013? If you are, feel free to share your experiences and impressions while we await the official Head-Fi coverage.
Unfortunately, I didn't to see too much today as I was stuck over at the Hilton (the ass end of CES). Don't ask, it was for work so I had to be there today. Likewise, tomorrow will be fill of meetings so I don't know how much headphone sightseeing I'll get to do.
Here's a smattering of what I've come across so far:
Meelectronics is showing off some dual [dynamic] driver IEMs. I didn't get a chance to see/hear them at all, but I wanted to snap a quick pic as I walked by. I'll go back for more details and a listen.
Meelec's also got some sort of "Diamond Tears" like cans. They're big enough to be circumaural (assuming you don't have huge ears), and they've got some kind of quartz vein thing running down the sides.
And finally, a pic of their new EDM Universe offerings. The visual is a bit too saccharin for my tastes, but if they sound good I'll wear 'em. I'll wear anything that sounds good, my manhood is beyond dispute.
Looking for a funky DAC/amp for your iDevice (not Lightning connector)? AddOn was on hand to show off their Telefunken i-Concerto series DAC/amps. There's a large i-Concerto with three tubes and a small i-Concerto with two tubes. Both have a built-in iDock. Again, no time to sneak in an audition. But if anyone is interested, I'll try to go back for some more information and some impressions.
Finally got a chance to listen to the new Ferrari by Logic 3 cans (from the Cavallino Collection).
The smaller T250 (supraaural) is typical bass heavy fare. Looks great, sounds not so great (unless you're looking for bassy cans). Meanwhile the larger T350 (circumaural) is pretty fantastic. Still a bit weighty in the low end, but relatively balanced otherwise with a warm and natural presentation.
Both today and tomorrow are devoted to work, so that's all I've got for now. But I'll be posting some more fun stuff soon. If you are at CES right now as well, please feel free to share!
