A long time ago I decided I am more of a full sized planar open headphone type of person. So I built up my system that way. Currently I have a Hifiman Susvara and ABYSS MR and around it a stack of Ferrum and WA7 Gen 3 Fireflies mated to a Musician R2R DAC. Sure I have a Sony DAP and a Questyle M15 dongle for when I travel using my Sennheiser IE900. I am currently back home in Asia for a couplr week vacation. So for this trip I decided a new IEM might be nice. My research led me to the UM Mest MK3. And boy am I so blown away. Bright neutral. Just as everyone said. And never did I thought I will be loving something bright being that I am always sensitive to treble. But not the Mest. Its bright but so well controlled. I find it to be very balanced with a slight focus to the mids. Both male and female vocals are so delectable. Guitars from Eric Clapton, or Yoshio Kimura? Ahhh to die for. Male vocals from Leonard Cohen? Buttery. Female vocals from Joan Armatrading? Smooth and powerful. I was actually kinda worried about bass bec of the BC. Nope bass is crisp and strong and powerful ONLY when needed. Like I said very balanced. I enjoyed the Mest so much I purchased the Cayin RU7. This dongle took the Mest to another level. But the most important thing is the comfort. I wore the Mest for 17 hours straight from my flight in JFK to Taipei with absolutely no discomfort. I am so happy with it I do not even miss my full sized headphones and system which is surprising. Now I am contemplating shifting to better IEMs and selling my other stuff lol. Thank u all for this thread. All the inputs led me to making the right decision

Yes it is available in CIEMs. Send them an email if you didn't see it on the MT website.

I didn't feel ear pressure as such (because it's vented) but I did feel my ear get warm in general probably due to the ear-filling fit.

Okay well my ear is building pressure so maybe I should get UM to give em a looksee what's going on then

Sent mine to get refurbished, I was also considering asking about changing the pins, you guys know if it's possible changing my Mext to be QDC? or recessed? I'm not the biggest fan of flushe but I could just get a flushed cable like the ones from letshouer's S12

it's a toss up, I prefer QDC but I'm not opposed to just keeping it flush
