brief hijack (sorry)...
Oregonian, I have that exact same Yamaha P-520 (in silver). Very nice turntable
I cannot see what cartridge it is?
If it's a moving magnet (MM), you should definitely switch to a moving coil (MC) pickup.
I have the Yamaha MC-21 cartridge, and it's brilliant.
I hate this expression but compared to the MM stock cartridge the SQ difference is "night and day": clarity, details, dynamic, soundstage/imaging, ...
And timbre/musicality are sublime; imo better than the legendary and highly praised "TDA1541" DAC of my Philips CD650.
And since it has a high voltage output, a MC pre-amp section is not necessary (MM pre-amp works like a charm).
here is a review (not my review):

Speaking of full sizes.........ever considered a vintage integrated amp?

Well dang. That makes me excited. Did you get them off of ebay?

The Kenwood off craigslist and the Pioneer word of mouth. Guy was looking for a quick sale and the guy I bought the equalizer from in the first picture thought of me and called. Glad he did.

In the case you have lost -- or never owned -- the Yamaha P-520 owner's manual, here it is in pdf (for some weird reason, pp. 2-4 are unreadable):

And how high is the headphone out impedance. It should not be too high, else it would probably alter the sound sinature of the Sig DJ a lot. At least that is what the experts on HeadFi tell us.

is it that bad ?) do u prefer ur 702?
since i'm in der Schweiz, shipping should not be a deal breaker?
i'm still hesitating: hd 600 or pro 2900 or saving some money

Sorry, but my PRO-2900 os in St. Petersburg since this spring. I only have the K702 for gaming and the two Signatures for music. Recently added a Sony EX-1000 though, for potable use.
I had the HD 650 and the PRO-2900 in paralel for some time and sold the HD 650 because I found it boring compared to the PRO-2900 then. Or call it slow, undynamic in comparision. The PRO-2900 on the other hand tended to overpronounce the treble.
You'd better save for a SIGNATURE PRO/DJ.

No idea, no clue.  Honestly, I've read about the impedance mismatch and can't for the life of me let it concern me.  I know how good these vintage amps sound compared to a Schiit Magni for example, and about 6 different portables, and are enjoyable enough not to think about.

Ok I am with you. I have a Yamaha YSP 1100 sound projector in my living room. That one has no headphone out. But for music listening I bought a vintage Technics CD player SL-PG5. That one has a regulated headphone out. I just put Pink's I'm Not Dead album into that one and listened over the SIG DJ. WOW what a bass and what a dynamic sound. Maybe the Ipod Classic / Meier Stepdance combo is a little more refined overall, but the Technics has definitely more punch. And no one knows the output impedance of this device. You got me thinking, man. You can have vintage amps here at my city for very little money. But that stuff is not very portable, right? And the woman acceptance factor is below zero these days...
Should have kept my 1978 Yamaha amplifier. Sold it in 1985...

Yes it has both. Works fine with I devices. On my Galaxy Note phone only the micro works.

Nice. Then I definitely want an extra of that cable for my pro 900s. Anyone know if you call Ultrasone if they will sell it to you and if so how much? It looks really rugged, good quality, and an all around essential for the Pro 900 user (assuming it fits the threading of the 900s).
