Forgive me, I didn't notice the gear you have in the sig. From the looks of it you're all set to just buy an LCD-2. Though can I ask why you have not explored the 1k territory of headphones considering the Amp and DAC you currently own. I'd quit beating around the bush and just splurge on a 1k set of cans just so you can cure yourself of upgraditis.... for now

I understand, I've been trying to find my favorite sound signature since I started this journey.

Wish I was like you, I'm always after the "Best" all-rounder for my genres of music. The more I experiment with the Pro 900 the better they continue to sound. First the Kees Mod, then the XB700 Pads Mod, then going balanced, I've found the perfect closed can. Though I'd like to listen to the ED8 one day to compair.

I believe that is False, they use the same driver as the ed.9

The pro750 and edition 9 use the same driver, while the pro2900, pro 900 and edition 8 use the same driver.

either way, why the huge difference in price? what makes one alot better than the other if its the same driver?

Did anyone tried pro 550 and 900?

Would like to know what is with soundstage between those two, because I owned pro 550 and soundstage was distant and not layered for me. Ultrasone pro 900 is not "the sounstage" headphone, read about it, but it would be good if their ambient presentation is more vivid. Maybe too much to ask from closed 'phone in this price range, but it would be nice.

I am 99% sure that is false. I just sent out an email to a rep at ultrasone to clarify this. Either way I'm curious myself to see what the official answer on this is.

Well, that's what I've gathered from various threads. In any case, they are tuned differently for each model, so the drivers aren't exactly the same.

I also have read this before, I believe on the Edition 8 thread itself.

Same here, it makes me think if it's even worth buying the ED8.

Still after those pads Colmustard!
