Go for the black MS 400 if you want sleek and ampless. The DJ1 PRO, although a better headphone in my book, is neither sleek nor good unamped. Or buy the DJ1, which has smaller earcups and presumably can be used without an amp.

Not sure, but from pictures they look comparable to the HFI-780 and other HFI models. Whereas the DJ1 PRO are fairly large. I should clarify that I have never seen nor heard the DJ1. But I love the DJ1 PRO and really like the MS 400.

Are you willing to pay for a feature nobody really needs and if you do need it, it probably won't work good enough?
