TTPOD T2 Hybrid iems
Jan 20, 2015 at 8:03 AM Post #737 of 1,206
Vocal and instrument from mid to high are very deep and wide, very smooth, very natural. Especially organ, guitar, violin, flute, piano, all are very well presented with depth and very natural. This is where T2 does excel. If you dont mind that bass, but you are clean and accurate bass folk, you would love the T2.

There is a noticable different from outa the box vs burn in. The bass outa the box is like ....non existed, after 70 hours burn in, and it comes out better

Hmm, interesting!! lets see how close it is to the re-400.

I have ordered mine's last week.
I Wish it offers what it is been judged here, detailed, flat response, not bass centric...
I wish.....
I think it is going to be a great pair of iems, just not for bass head or funny sound fans...

You will get what you wish for. T2 Is flat, not bass fun, but bass respond, accuracy, details and together with unique vocal, mid, high. You will love it

I will confirm in a few days if this are same to me too.

oddly enough today i tried taping vent #2, and it seem to reduce the treble (maybe i'm imagining it) it made them darker sounding.

not sure how this makes sense, cause i thought the dynamic is only responsible for the bass and the two BA are for the mids and treble.

will need more listening hm... lets not jump ship yet boys! its only a few days since we got it (at least for me anyway) i need more time with them! this is certainly an interesting one

You are correct, now i listen closer with vent up or covered. It does seem some very small details on the mid gets covered up, probably the bass over power this fine miniscule detail, and your ears ignored it. So yes, best way to listen to these seems to be amping up your bass will be better than venting it up. You can control amping, but not taping lol.....

Glad to hear that, will definitely try and compare with my heaven II and hippo pro one when my unit arrives~

I guess we all hear things differently, cause I honestly can't relate my experience with T2 to a sound description you found with your pair  Just my humble opinion, but their performance is really just average, nice clean and clear and very smooth.  But lack of soundstage width/depth, lack of detail retrieval, and a bit of a congested sound makes it just ok for my taste.  At the same time, my comparison bar is set high (and I also had higher expectations for T2).  So maybe it's unfair because in comparison to a lot of budget or other sub $100 IEMs or even dual hybrids like AX35/DGS100 - T2 really shines.  But it's far away from a giant killer or "wow factor"..  A lot of people will enjoy T2 because it's smooth and intimate, and has plenty of clarity to go around.  I'm just waiting/hoping for T2 Pro to take this to the next level with more details and better separation, though not holding my breath for improved soundstage since a design going to stay the same.

In my opinion, and I don't remember if I mentioned that before, TTPOD should have approached T2 design differently.  Initial T2 release should have been done with a better pair of BA drivers and a more balanced detailed sound sig.  T2 Pro should have been with an enhanced bass and slightly v-shaped sig.  Just my 2 cents.

@twister6 Very good assement , T2 is not a giant killer, however it is a very detailed and enjoyable iem for me, I really do enjoy listening to them. I also get guite a bit of bass, both mid and sub with mine. MAybe it is my source or listening preferances , but we all hear differently. My ZA Duoza's come today, looking forward to listening.

I'm pretty keyed in with twister6's reviews. He's pretty much nailed every review he's done that I've purchased with the exception of the HiFiMan RE-300, which I found to be garbage, and he weirdly found agreeable, but for most everything else, including my old Doppio, he's right on track. So I imagine the T2 are dull, uninspired, and basically "worth about what you pay for them", and since the S-018 goes well beyond what I pay for them, with a single micro driver, then the T2 isn't something I care to purchase. Like I said before, bring on those T2p!! Redemption!

Your pair of RE300A was obviously defective

j/k.  We all hear things differently, use different sources, different eartips, have different ear anatomy, and partial hearing loss as we age lol!!!  That's why it's always fun to compare our "notes".

wow, this thread moved a crap ton over the weekend.  after reading more impressions, i think i'm going to stick to dual dynamic IEM's unless the T2pro can satisfy my hunger for bass.

Yup. I think the T2 has the wow factor - all those bits to see in a transparent shell, but the single well tuned dd (or better yet dual)  is not dead!

Looking forward to your impressions of them in the discovery thread or the zero audio thread! (I should have mine early next week).
