So after some research I found that Beats By Dre. are just over priced headphones that put out too much unnatural bass. I was looking into getting a good pair of headphones for the 80-100 dollar range and found a few studio quality ones, but I'm not sure which ones are better and what makes them better.

First I found some AKG Acoustics K-240 Semi Open Studio Headphones

Which are said to be the studio standard but because of the open design some people weren't satisfied with the bass results.

Then I found Grado Prestige Series SR80 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000G3LCQC/ref=cm_cr_asin_lnk 

Which apparently have better bass and sound quality?

Also Sennheiser HD-280 PRO Headphones http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000065BPB/ref=cm_cr_asin_lnk

Like I said I don't really know what the difference is between all of these and would love some help. Also, the music I listen to ranges from dubstep, instramental, soundtracks, to rock, metal and electronica, so I definitely want headphones that deliver both in sound and bass. Thanks!

Good selection you've whittled down there - The HD 448 and 280 Pro should be reasonable in the bass department.
 
I have a friend who swears by his 280 Pro for mixing his metal, personally I don't mind them.
 
Sr80i will play back metal with visceral snarl - but their occasional sibilance and bass punchiness may not
be enough for you.

K240MKll, K271MKll, M-50, those monitor hps are around your price range. The HD-280 have a strong Clamping force, and I think you should try some of those hps for yourself in a music store.
 
EDIT : as monitor hps, you needs flat, or close to flat FR as possible . The bassy hps can add a sound coloration and confuse you in the mix.

Avoid the HD448, I've seen them in person and the cable is very disappointing to say the least. The plastic also feels weak when I felt them.

Okay so then that knocks out one pair (HD448) if they really aren't that good. So I've got one vote for the K240's and one for the HD-280?  Also, I should have clarified, I'm not sure if it matters, but I'm not looking to actually create my own music (right now anyways, possibly in the future) mostly right now I'm just looking for an excellent pair that will allow me to enjoy listening to music the right way.

Well, this is much simple..just get one of the Ultrasones models as used out of the FS forum.

Sorry, what are the  Ultrasones models and what is the FS forum? And what would make any of these headphones better than the others? I've also noticed that some of these headphones have different "ohms." Is the higher the ohms the better the headphones? Lol sorry, like I said, I'm a complete noob when it comes to this.

Please use the search, I'm sure you'll find the right answers...in your price range you can try the HFI-550/580/DJ1. Maybe even you'll get lucky on used PL/Pro-650 for around $100. Check the For Sale/ under the Forums.

Check these out.
 
Ignore the price, it doesn't represent these headphones at all. You will love them. They're so warm and lush, smooth and musical. Comfortable and sturdy too.
 
If you want something open and energetic, get the Grado SR60 with Lcush pads ($100 new, shipped). If you want something bassy and closed, check the Shure SRH750 DJ ($100ish new shipped). If you want an all around headphone that is comfortable, warm, musical and very classy and all too, look at the Fischer Audio FA-011.

Yeah, I'm not really looking to buy any used though, I just want to buy a new pair. My biggest concern with all these open type headphones is that the bass will sound weak and won't deliver that heavy sound that some music is made for.
