TRINITY - PHANTOM Series - New thread + WORLDS FIRST PUSH PULL HYBRID IEM!*

Come on people... it surely is not the most professional thing but it's not that big of an issue as everybody makes it out to be either. Nobody "sold" your data... it's more than likely that Bob simply took the customer information from Trinity with him. It's something that happens quite a lot in all kinds of industries. Not to mention he's basically still helping out at TA till end of the month.

If this thing turns out to be a burial of TA and "rebirth" as IRM with a "clean" name, then yes I get it, it's a very questionable thing to do. But so far we don't have much information to go on.

In the meantime: I have received my Icarus III (ordered last week) and so far I am quite happy with them. Still waiting on the PM6 of course... and if they don't "deliver" when they arrive, I'll simply send them back. And if they don't arrive next month, I'll cancel anyway but at the moment my hope is still that they either had issues with the suppliers or had some fine-tuning to do (the few that got them mentioned the slightly piercing treble issues).
Man, are you kidding me saying that Bob simply took the customer information from Trinity with him and its not a big deal! Nobody can say Trinity sold the emails and so forth to Bob. Its a breach of consumer protection. If I worked for say an insurance company and left to take up employment with another one and took their customer data base I would be liable to be sued. Bod left Trinity about three weeks ago.

Guys - just to clarify on the IMR thing: I'm the Head-Fi'er being sent their demo model for a week. This came about as I am one of the few thread members who currently has a Hunter in their possession, so I wanted to hear the difference between the models, and to be able to post comparisons between this new model and the other higher end IEMs I currently have, to try and give an impartial opinion for anyone who is currently looking at this, as this has already started being discussed on another thread.

For the record, I'm in no way connected to Trinity (or IMR/Bob, apart from having the Master to listen to for a few weeks around Christmas last year). I'm just as unimpressed as most people here with the Trinity delivery sagas and constant lies about timeframes, and had to chase my Hunter repeatedly, bringing to an end my purchasing with them once they were sent.

I've believe there is more to the story than most of us will ever find out, and if it turns out that this is Trinity in another guise, that will be hugely disappointing. I wasn't one of the members who received an email from them unsolicited, so can't comment on that either. However, all I intend to do is give an honest appraisal of what I think the new model sounds like, good or bad. Whether people choose to read it or not, out or choose to do business with the new firm, that's entirely down to them - personally, I'm taking Bob at face value, and these will be going back to him in a week with an honest appraisal. I can fully understand why some members will choose not to, and that is entirely as it should be - a personal choice based on how they see things and what they feel comfortable with. Hopefully this will help take some of the hype out of any train that is building, and give people at least one point of reference for sound if they are considering them, prior to putting any commitment down. As can hopefully be seen from my previous reviews (including impressions of the Master in early Jan on here), I didn't declare the Master as the greatest thing ever, and just put them where I thought they were in comparison to the IT03 and LZ-A4. That's all I'll be doing with the new model.

Sorry if this has come across a little defensive, but I take my integrity very seriously (both on here and in the real world), so just wanted to weigh in on my reasons for getting the demo model.

To put this back on track, there will be comparisons Vs the Hunter going up at some point on this thread (unless people really aren't happy with that, in which case I won't), but everything else will be kept for the other thread where this all originated.

Folks carping about the mailing list info....

I'm the LAST person to defend Bob because my opinion is very similar to that of Brooko's in terms of the fact that I feel he could have done a LOT more to stop the bleeding over the last 6 months. However, none of us know what is in the NDA and severance agreement between Trinity and Bob. There's a very good chance Bob said that because he was the face of the business, he cultivated that mailing list and had rights to its contents. The fact that Bob has the list doesn't mean Trinity sold it, or anything so nefarious.

That being said, I agree that unsolicited email is not only a bad business practice but is also illegal in many places. The right thing to do would have been to send an initial "Hi, I'm Bob. This is my new company. If you want to hear about my new stuff I'll use this address. If you don't, click here to unsub".

Now, back to Trinity. They said that they were going to "start shipping" the Air and PM6 again next week... once again, start shipping is used without actually saying what that means...they will NEVER learn.

Definitely would be the good way to go about the mailing list thing regardless of how he was able to keep the mailing list. Like a pre-announcement email: "if you're interested in what I'm reading, don't do anything, if you really don't care, here's the unsub button".

Also, note that the way the email is structured, the Airs are supposed to have started shipping this week and PM6 will start next week. That said, we are all well aware of how they sometimes don't seem to have much comprehension of the ways of the English language.....

Never heard in all my years in on line selling that an employee who leaves, can take the ex companies customer data base to sell into for their new venture. Especially if they are selling the same type of product and in direct competition. Doesn't stack up. Would be an akin of a sales rep saying to his boss.. hey these are my clients and I'm taking them with me.

It depends on how their employment agreement is structured. If they didn't have specific agreements on IP and ownership of information, Bob would have a legal standing to take that with him. This is why most places will have you sign something when you start saying that all of your ideas and information you collect while in their employ is property of the corporation. I think that TA has proven over the last 12 months that they aren't exactly solid with their business acumen, so I wouldn't be surprised if they lacked that agreement with Bob.

To be honest, I hesitated when I saw the IMR R1... And I hesitated jumping onboard to another preorder yet again. Considering all the risks involved, I'll pass...

I do agree though that the Trinity/IMR/Bob situation has a lot of unknowns which we will not get an answer to. Personally, I'm just done with all the drama. :P

Yep, I think I will move on too.

Just want to be clear - I'm not saying this is a scam or in any way illegal. And I'm not saying this as a Moderator but as a member. I'm simply saying that I wouldn't trust them again - unless there were grounds for trust. And at the moment all I see is more of the same. For 500 quid there are better options out there.

And these better options are based on what? I mean have you heard the R1 yet? Seems speculation and possibly some past experience you've had may have driven this comment no? I'm just asking because it seems unfair to speculate some new products authenticity and worth without actually hearing it! I'm just asking as a member myself.

I think he means "better" in a holistic sense, not just SQ - like, "for 500 quid, you could buy known, high sound and build quality IEMs that will be delivered to you within a couple weeks and an excellent customer service team to accompany it." Which is true, and things that Trinity and I'm very much sure IMR still sorely lack.
