TRINITY - PHANTOM Series - New thread + WORLDS FIRST PUSH PULL HYBRID IEM!*

May 31, 2016 at 3:36 AM Post #2,206 of 24,683
I apologize if these have been answered already (this thread is quite yuuuuge now), but I have a few questions:

1. Is the blue color exclusive to the M6 (KS special or something?) or will it be available for M4?

2. Has the Sabre started shipping yet? I'll need to cancel my order to change to the M4 and would like to know (can't catch 'em all like some of you
redface.gif
).

3. Will there be a trade-in option for upgrading Atlas to M4? If so, would the discount be greater than the 20% Head-Fi code?

4. Will the Delta (1 or 2) or Atlas filters be compatible with the M4?

Thanks all
smily_headphones1.gif
, keep up the good work Bob!

1. Bob has not confirmed yet the colors of the M6 in KS, but the M4 "only" has 3 colors. Since the M4 it's not in the KS, I doubt we will see more to choose from.
2. Nope, but "soon".
3.
4. The delta filters are bigger than the ones in the M4, (edit) after reading Brooko's review of the Atlas, it seems it will fit sabre that afaik is the same size as the M4.
Regards.

I have a similar question to spaceman's 2nd question.

When is the Sabre shipping?

It's about that end of May time

Forgive my eagerness, but i must know or attempt to inquire.

Hi all,
I just stumbled across this thread 15mins ago! I was (re)reading Brooko's review for the Delta v2, checked out Trinity Audio's online shop, and discovered the Phantom Master 4
basshead.gif

So I have a few questions, if anyone has the time/inclination to answer :p
1) In Brooko's comparison between the Delta v2 and the Sabre, it indicated that the changeable filters in the Sabre only really adjusted the bass. There were only slight variations in the rest of the audio spectrum. This was disappointing to me; I loved the idea of being able to have such wide differences in sound signature available in the same IEM.
Having said that, I also love the idea of the whole push-pull +BA's set up, so I'm a bit torn!
Is this (chiefly bass modification only using the filters) going to be the same in the Master 4? Or more sonic difference from the filters as in the Delta v2?

2) I read an entry where I believe someone was asking if there would be balanced cables available for the Master 6, for use with the DP-X1 DAP, and the answer was 'yes'. I am likely to upgrade to this DAP later this year, and would love to use it in balanced mode, so I'd like to ask the same question essentially, but for the Master 4?

3) Finally (and I did search first using the Head-Fi search tool), has anyone reviewed the Master 4 yet, and specifically, compared it with the Delta v2?

What are the key differences between master 6 and hunter, tuning and a load of extras or have I missed something?

Well besides top of the line parts I don't think the Hunter is a push/pull design at least that is what I thought I read? Anyone, did I get that right?

I believe Bob mentioned it was a dual voice-coil dynamic driver rather than a push-pull arrangement, as someone compared it to the RHA dual coil driver and he quickly said it wouldn't be like that.

Don't know much about what benefits that brings, but it was one define difference. He also mentioned quality of the BA drivers I think as well?

Here's the official page for the Hunter, should be all the info ya need :p . And you're right @Podster , it doesn't use push-pull, but rather "voice coil" tech.

As far as I am aware:
  1. Sabre has the filters like Atlas - ie changes bass only
  2. Master 4 and Master 6 - Bob is currently looking at switching to Delta type filters. I had the Master 6 a week ago - just for a few hours before I lost a channel - but in my brief time with it, my recommendation was to go with the more versatile larger Delta filters. Bob was going to redo a prototype and see how it went.
  3. No-one but Bob has heard Master 4
  4. Cables are replaceable - so if Bob is making balanced cables, you should be able to order them separately

Yup, the Hunter isn't playing the driver number game. 4BA+1DD as opposed to Master 6's 4BA+2DD with push/pull tech.

1) Wouldn't be able to tell you
2) The Phantom Master 4 and Master 6 use the same removable 2-pin cable system. If it works for the Master 6, it'll work for the Master 4 and vice versa. So yes, you can use the balanced cable on the Phantom Master 4. I dunno if Bob's bundling it, but he'll certainly be selling cable separately so you should be able to get it either way.
3) No reviews of the Phantom ANYTHING yet as none of the IEMs are officially out yet. All things describing the Phantom series now are impressions based on prototypes, albeit potentially final prototypes.

Hope this cleared things up a little bit

Hunter should do much better than Master 6, cause IMO for single dynamic dual voice coil same as RHA T20 would do all
tongue.gif

Didn't you sell your T20 bcos it was too bassy?

May 31, 2016 at 8:57 PM Post #2,220 of 24,683
Hmm T20 has a good bass, but sad like unbalanced sounds, if can added 2 more BAs will be best
smily_headphones1.gif

Well I believe it's in the tuning not the number of drivers, not to mention another 2 BAs will drive up the cost.
