Got hit with chronic migraine headaches...then the tinnitus started.  I was in the US Air Force for 20 plus years and managed to avoid damaging my hearing even on the flight line.  I stopped listening to loud music years ago.  I spoke with a Ear/Nose/Throat specialist and he said there may be no specific cause.  Some people are just more susceptible (according to him).  In my opinion, it was the combination of headaches and all the medications they prescribed to try to kick the headaches...so now I still have the headaches and the tinnitus.  Back on topic, I'm really enjoying the Phantom Sabres (between the tinnitus) and can't wait to compare the sounds of the Master and Icarus III!

Wow that sucks! Yeah tinnitus is a bitch unfortunately and so is migraine. Did they prescribe beta-blockers to reduce the frequency of the migraine? Thanks for sharing your story!

Anyways, I found the SABRE to be really unforgiving with treble in OK/bad recordings, they would make my ears bleed. So I returned them and bought the Master. It should be less harsh on the treble, I'm looking forward to it as well!

My hyperions have arrived! Gunmetal ones.

They pack a punch! When you get a good seal these have some serious bass output. The bass is full sounding going well into the lower frequencies. The highs sometimes sound not as bright as I'm used to with the VYRUS. They don't bleed into other frequencies as far as I have heard. It's definitely the trinity house sound where the mids aren't as prominent. All in all a very capable little IEM (and they are TINY!) with really good bass quantity and quality for such a little thing. For the price they're at and the discount these are absolute steals! They feel sturdy and all the usual stuff is included as we are used to from Trinity. The packaging on it's own reminds me of the way Apple wraps it's products which is a huge compliment! I'm using the X5 iii as a source and it tames the Sabre's treble to the point where I don't have any issues with it on any recordings (I'm treble sensitive).  So to me, the X5iii and Sabres pair very well! 

Those Hyperions look great!  I can't wait to read your impressions of them!

Thanks. I just didn't think of using a once-only half-off for such an inexpensive device. I figured that I'd use it for something sometime (it doesn't expire, does it?) that was expensive. Maybe I should consider it...

I used it for the Icarus I as well and some kombi tips, so basically I spent so little and got a lot. 10£ for a pretty good backup IEM is insane

Well, I think Trinity sez they are getting caught up and these were supposed to ship in May.  Think it might originally have been April.
