Hell, they even look like those Sennheisers and some folks prefer the somewhat more forward presentation. Not always as well finished as the piccy though according to one recent poster on Head-Fi.
I see a UK seller is selling HD598s for £125 here in classified; but maybe you'd prefer to crack a new pair than buy them precracked

Well I will be making my decision fairly soon so once I have, I will report back my thoughts.
 
I am looking at the 555's to be honest at this point.
 
One question. Does the surround sound reflective quality of these headphones sound like the nasty surround sound EQ effect you sometimes get on mp3 players as that sound does not appeal to me. I like something punchy and warm but not muddy.

Decided to go for the HD555 - they have recieved glowing reviews and I think they will be a step up from my HD465 (god I hope so coz the HD465 are still in my opinion good cans).
 
Getting them for £85 which I think is a decent price.
 
Will post a review once the deed is done.
