I've been thinking on a CIEM NT6. However nowadays I find that I am satisfied and chasing the dragon isn't worth the money as I just have other priorities.

I've heard the FDX1 on 1 filter I think, can't remember which. Until I try it on all 3 filters, I'll keep my thoughts reserved

I was wondering, how is the violet compared to NT6, I am super interested in the Violet but there is like zero info on it.

The Violet is thick and bassy with an upper treble lift. Very colored signature that has too much bass for some. If it had more uppermids I think it would make for a more interesting IEM but since it has a lack of it, the sound can be a bit hazy at times. NT6 is much more balanced sounding next to Violet. Interesting monitor for sure due to its unique treble response that "sparkles" like andro

I've been thinking to revamp this whole thread actually. I used to like thicker, bodied signatures but that's changed nowadays. I find myself liking something perhaps on the leaner side of things. I sometimes read my older posts and think "wow, I can't believe I felt this way". 334 used to be my reference (which was why I thought of it highly) and nowadays I would scoff at it for being too thick, bloated and low resolution. I haven't heard the 334 in ages, but when I did, I liked the mids and tone, but remember the bass having super slow decay, making it quite the opposite of tight. I owned the MH335 and liked it but it was overly smooth.

I owned the NT6 quite a few years ago and it was wonderful but the tone is bright, and to be honest, it gets fatiguing after an hour or so. It still sounded great out of my Hifiman 901 with Minibox amp card. The good old days. In the end, I would lister to the SE5 ref much more often.

If the violet has an overly thick tone or very boosted bass I'm not interested.

Here are some brief thoughts on Solaris SE, AB'd against OG Solaris.

I think I've also been too critical of Solaris. These image really well and both sport good extension on the highs. Their tone is the bottleneck with the midrange.

Edit: Nevermind, I like SE more since it has more uppermids. Less "hazy" as well. Well done.

I saw crin's measurements, still got 4K suckout. I listen a lot chamber music with violins and violin concerto, so it's still crap for me.

Yeah, the midrange response isn't perfect. There's still unevenness to be addressed.

Solaris is definitely a very colored monitor through and through.

Wow that bad. I remember my custom being a bit warm and hazy but not that bad. But that solves one of my issues : I was wondering if they were still up to par.

Any chance to review the Nicehck NX7 or Nicehck NX7 Pro (preferred, since those have an upgraded cable and filters; whereas the "basic", "old" NX7 doesn't) ?

It is alright for listening to vocal centric songs but once you throw a different genre at it, it is pretty damn bad.

They have driver flex. I listened to them for a short while so I need more time to gather more thoughts. Apparently Hyla is also releasing a 1DD+1BA iem alongside the Sarda - I'll be keeping a lookout for that as well.

Haha I do regret getting a 334/sr. My tastes have changed completely & I really can't believe I used to enjoy the fitear signature.

It is alright for listening to vocal centric songs but once you throw a different genre at it, it is pretty damn bad.

Even with vocals it's debatable - I'd like my vocals clear & tight instead of a "diffused" sounding experience.

I tried Z1R, Hades V2, Roland just now.

Roland isnt that worth mentioning. Just totally dark iem and i didnt enjoy much.
Z1R has the best bass in iem hands down. It has that "woofer" feeling but the mids is significantly thinner.
Elysian Hades V2, i find Hades sounds really good. Vast soundstage. A tiny bit thin mids but not as thin as Z1R.

For these 3, i like Hades V2 best. Pretty sharp imaging with superb soundstage. I dont really mind the treble spike as people said.
