Got my P1 Drop order confirmation notice this morning!
True words small step in a right direction i cancled my order yesterday this iem is nothing for me and i trust your words and ranking
Can you name some the hyped stuff you've purchased but haven't been impressed with?As a parting shot over the “curiosity” bow...I’ve joined the drop. I’ve bought a lot of the hyped stuff lately, and I’m not that impressed. Let’s see if this one sinks the ship for good.
NiceHCK F3 - a real stinker. 1dd, 1ba, 1 planar. Completely mistuned (like they just put the separate drivers in there without giving a f*ck what it was going to sound like). BGVP DM6- also not tuned optimally, so disappointing. Can you name some the hyped stuff you've purchased but haven't been impressed with?

Kanas Pro- I like them, but their slight tilt towards treble makes cymbals sound thin and unnatural. It’s close, but not the rave everybody seems to think (inmho).
Some good ones...Tansio Mirai 4 Pro, CCA C16, BQEYZ B3, Tin Audio T2 Pro (nobody likes this one, but the hit my Stewart Copeland fix), the great **** ****.

Yeah, I kind of am giving the P1 a bit of a “wait and see”. My fault with the F3 for listening to the first reviews of that one that said ‘extreme detail” which turned out to be completely bogus. There was nothing clean about it’s upper range.Which is the oddest thing about the F3, and also why I think the P1 situation resonates with me. NiceHCK has had some successes under their belt, with (in my opinion) the HK6 being the pinnacle of their achievement so far (the NK10 is another good one, for example). So I was interested to see what they could do with a planar hybrid. Would it match what they did with the HK6 or NK10? Would it be terrible? Mine was defective, so comparison is unfair, but I think the P1 is a very similar situation. Tin did a great job with the T2 (I listened to the Pro version and it's pretty good for the price), so I am very interested to see what they can accomplish with the P1. While it wasn't exactly on my mind, it's a great parallel to the F3, so I wonder if my subconscious kicked in and kept me out of the P1 pool.
You liked the CCA C16? I've wondered about that company, because it seemed like they just threw more drivers at IEMs, but didn't seem like they took the time to figure out how they all work together. I mean, I think that they have a 21 BA driver IEM. But if they can produce a likable IEM... I might have to pay them a bit more attention in the future.
