Time for a new car, what would you choose?

I would choose the BMW. I've been a Bimmer owner/fan for years and think they are simply marvelous cars for sheer driving pleasure with a touch of luxury. The included maintenance is nice and I find the MB C-class to be a bit of a dull car in terms of the way it feels.

Alright in a strange twist of events my parents want to give me their 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Not really what I was looking for, but I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. I figure I can use the Jeep for 6-8 months and get an 08 model Maxima.

Why not a Alpina B5?

Or you can get an M6 like a good friend of mine has. He must be a damn good chef with some killer bankroll, lol.

There was an Alpina B7 sitting on the showroom floor at the dealership, right next to an M6 and an M5. I only looked at the price tag on the M5, $106,000!

And I would also turn down a Reliant K car!

I couldn't care less what the "chickies" think of it!

I want the AWD for snow, I live 45 minutes from Tahoe and spend quite a bit of time there in the winter.

Land Rover. It's the "upscale" 4x4. Or a Jeep. The new Commander is very nice and you can get them loaded with features. Lastly would be a caddy 4x4. I don't know much about their rating, but I see many high sales real estate agents using those for customers. The 4x4's that still have road and creature comforts.

I have the 2006 330i, very similar to the 328xi that you're considering. I absolutely love it. And I drove many, many cars, including the Infiniti G35; nothing came close, in my opinion.

I did the 3 year lease, too, but I paid slightly more to get 12,000 miles/year.

For future reference

I'm not particularly sure about pricing but I do remember the M from infiniti was quite a bit more spacious than the g35, and was classy as hell especially the interior.

OOH LA LA!

Hopefully I too will be new-car shopping by the end of August.
