No was referring statement prior you join the discussion/ chat so nevermind. Yea, pretty confusing. I know it does not matter ...I don’t think there have been any contradictions along the way of this recent discourse as to whether or not Tidal streams in FLAC. Confusion, yes, but not contradictions.

That's like saying wine and beer both have alcohol, so why don't they just call it beer.So why not Tidal Hifi call it WAV instead of FLAC, after all you can also compress down to 44/16 anyway.
After all this discussion, you still don't understand the concept of file format.
Yes I do but thats besides the point. That's like saying wine and beer both have alcohol, so why don't they just call it beer.

For the record.
FLAC is the obvious choice when streaming Hi-Fi/ Hi-res, bc it uses way less bandwidth than Wav and is able to carry meta data within the file/ container.
That's all you need to know and be happy.![Headphone Smile :) :)](https://cdn.head-fi.org/e/headfi/smily_headphones1.gif)

If everybody can download it as flac then few or most can agree to whoever said it is flac.. until then most or few not. That is just the way they protect the file from downloader. Enough evidence for some that its is not flac or mp3 or wav or any local format...Its just based on flac... with their own streaming format.. that encrypted and nobody can download it.. else music label also wont agree to be on tidal. However, its marketed as flac with 44.1/16hz nonetheless. Just some and my opinion.

If you need too see it is FLAC, try Qobus---> win desktop app -----> offline/import. Then you will see FLAC.
Not lying...Why lie about the format?

What is the difference between Tidal and Quboz sound quality ? Some say one more mellower and one more clarity.
Both good
Tidal offer MQA
Qobus offer 24-192
(If you need one of them)
Tidal offer cd quality in FLAC for a nice price
I prefer Tidal
