App or browser?
Windows/Mac/mobile?
Interesting, copy/paste in the search field works in all versions of Tidal except the Windows app. It works in mobile, browser, and Mac app.

It could be considered a software bug in the Windows app, and it can be fixed. Report it to Tidal if it matters to you.

What I wish I could do is select and copy text from the body of app (track title, credits, artist bio, etc). Although I could do it in the browser player if I really wanted to.

Copy or paste? If copy, copy from where?

I’m talking about the Windows app, you can’t right click to paste.

How do you know what bitrate and depth of the files you are streaming on tidal? I have Master enabled and it found my Oppo DAC that supports MQA but I don't see anything while playing on the tidal app that displays the quality of the file being played

update: ok i see the hifi thingy changes to master if it's an MQA file... but a lot of these just spin a circle around the play button and don't play. Anybody else having this problem? One did play and I was able to verify it by going to the hdmi output from my Oppo and seeing it was playing 96KHz MQA

You can't see it in the app itself. I can see it on the display of my Mytek Brooklyn and I can tell from the colours on my Hugo 2.
The Oppo doesn't display anything? Does it support MQA? If not make sure you let Tidal do the MQA decoding in settings.

I guess you can see it on the app I just missed it because it was my first time using tidal.. took them two weeks to fix an account screwup.

Anyway there is a blue box on the lower right side that said "hifi" all the time. I thought it was because i paid for the hifi option. But when I finally found a master it changed to master. And yeah the app recognized my Oppo DAC supported MQA and suggested to use this as the output device. See my post just above, I was able to verify it was really playing an MQA file. But it often doesn't work for some reason.

How do you search for masters specifically on the app? Is it possible? I just found a few by looking for popular artists (rolling stones) where I figured they must have some and the albums that do have a box with an M

Thanks

I was referring to actual bitrate of the stream that's playing

That doesn't have to mean it's actually streaming on the highest bitrate, it just tells you the stream is available as Master. If I play a Master track in the desktop app while my sound output is my Macbook it also shows this Master label.
If you really want to be sure it's properly decoding the master you need to verify on your DAC.

There's master albums and playlists on the homepage. Other than that you can't really filter/search for them.

Ah yeah that's true.

If you really want to be sure it's properly decoding the master you need to verify on your DAC.

It's annoying that the Oppo doesn't show more on the built-in display. I hate having to have a screen to use dlna, samba, etc. When I win the lottery I guess I'll buy another DAC...

Thanks, I'm not sure I saw it but first 30 minutes with tidal so I guess I will figure it out as I go and 29 days left to cancel the trial ;)

Maybe a silly question to some, but will iPhone play HI FI Quality when using Tidal App(HIFI subscription with HIFI files)?
The reason I ask is there are so many articles on the web stating only Onkyo HF player or VOX can play high quality audio = CD QUALITY.

Yes, go the Tidal app settings and set the streaming quality (open My Collection and tap on the gear icon). There are separate settings for WiFi and Cellular connection. You should choose the quality depending the data plan on your cell carrier.

Perhaps I did not make my question clear.

Question: Can the iPhone deliver CD quality output from Tidal HI FI App?

I know how to set it for HI FI on the Tidal iOS App. “What HIFI” UK publication suggests only Onkyo or Vox and a few other Apps can do this. No mention of TIDAL HIFI.
