Setting up my living room system…
STREAMER: old iPad Mini dedicated to Tidal.
DAC: FiiO KA1
3.5mm RCA into my Onkyo amp.

The Onkyo A-9110 has a nice remote so this might meet your requirement.

Any Canadians with Tidal subscriptions get an email about not being able to process payments? Got this and scratching my head. Nothing has changed with anything and all of the sites in question are showing everything per normal. Email seems legit.

I've gotten the mysterious didn't work message from Tidal, too. It turns out that you don't have to do anything for even a week more of continued streaming, just make sure your card should work, and they will try again in a day or 3. I think you could try telling it a new card number, or just removing and resubmitting your same card, to force a payment attempt immediately. But it's true, I only have to worry about the Audirvana payment being uninterrupted, for a short while, but I can't explain why it could happen if I keep up paying off the card's balance as soon as a payment goes through. Plus, I don't just have to sit around in Nirvana if I pay my bills and balances as soon as they show up.

I got the popup saying my Paypal payment was not accepted. I did not change anything on Paypal, so I suspected a scam. Anyway after a couple of days, I edited my payment method on Tidal.com and re-entered the exact same Paypal account. So far, no more popups.

So far, my September payment has not been processed. 😉

Ditto here, updated on Tidal too . What a strange thing, can't figure why it would happen but support told me to do just what you did and has been suggested by Audiophiliac. Will see if/when the charge goes through.

Big relief to hear that it worked later after that.
If you guys haven't tried the free trial of Audirvana, you don't know why I'm doing better than ever, sonically. $10/month is going to work out to a lot compared to the $150 standalone file player version with no streaming, but that wouldn't be nearly as good. I swapped to my nice NAD tuner while I was installing windows on a new drive, and while it makes me realize that all that time I spent listening to the radio while I was young, radio actually is not bad at all, compared to a receiver's cheapo built in tuner. However, swapping back to Tidal through Audirvana, oh man, a good tuner is still embarrassing compared to almost perfect serving. Player software just has to pre-download the whole FLAC, decompress it to a temporary file on the drive of my choice, and then simply play that file. It's almost there, and as long as it can split the tracks into 25 tracks with 50 character random names like Amazon Music does, who could complain about people finally hearing the artists properly?

Anyone else notice that when using Tidal via Roon, Roon no longer can show the quality without actually playing a specific track? Used to be that you could use Roon to find the highest bitrate version of an album available on Tidal. But over the past week, now every version just says "Tidal" instead of the specific bitrate. Inconvenient, if not outright shady.

I'm not sure I understand your point, but it seems to me to be working as usual.
Where can't you find the information you're looking for?

I am still looking for the “best” solution to use EQ to tune my Tidal hiRes tracks. So far I have tried:

1. Roon EQ on my PC: very good parametric EQ, but I just can’t justify the cost of Roon
2. HiBY Music on my Android DAP. It streams my Tidal tunes in 44.1, and the EQ works, but not as good as Roon.

Any other suggestions?
Tone control for Tidal: Schiit Liko+.

This is my new setup. The tone controls are just what I was looking for.

However the Loki+ seems to amplify the annoying clicks when Tidal changes the bit rate. Any suggestions?

Yea, a HiBy R Android DAP to run the native TIDAL Android DAP with added hi-res support, bitperfect, and systemwide parametric EQ and more besides, with MQA switch turned off the eliminate those clicks!

I guess I just hit the 10k album limit. Took me a while to figure out why I couldn't add more albums to my library. How in the world is this still a thing? It's an inconvenience to their most dedicated customers. Guess I'm switching to Qobuz? I'm stumped why and how this remains a baked-in limit only on Tidal.
