You going to turn into a couch potato mate, be careful or you'll gain weight.
Good one, but seriously that is a valid concern for me

Good one, but seriously that is a valid concern for me. Going to end up suing Sennheiser for the triple bypass in a couple of years!![]()
i completely agree with you.whatever someone likes and thinks sounds the best is what they should go for. For me im bot sure if the difference is enough to get me to swap.spotify is a great app and ive been using it for a long time. I have 28 more days with tidal so ive got time to listen and think about if that extra $10 is worth it. One thing i havnt liked about tidal though is a couple of albums i have on spotify i cant get on tidal or they have songs on an album left off. That drives me nuts not to have the whole album whether i listen to every song or not! Another downside is tidal will take up sooo much room on my phone with 1440/cd files!
yeah im enjoying tidal hifi and can hear a slight difference when i break down songs between tidal and spotify. Its not that big of a difference between spotify though.i wouldnt hardly notice the differences if i didnt breqk down the song or if i compared a whole song to a whole song.it is a shame that hendrix isnt with us today.he was such an amazing musician! My favorite hendrix album is live at Berkeley! I love his rendition of the star spangled banner! Absolutely beautiful!yup a tidal hifi song is about 10mb/min downloaded offline...so each 5 min song is 50mb ...i confirmed this with tidal.
vs a spotify song @ 320kps is 2.5mb/min....so a 5 min song is 12.5mb...but didn't confirm this with spotify.
and from what I'm reading, streaming is also about the quality of the tweaked 'algorythms used' and all that.
spotify uses ogg vorbis ...
https://www.google.ca/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=ogg%20vorbis
from their website:
http://www.vorbis.com/faq/#fan
I'm a music fan. Why should I be interested?
Because Vorbis provides a high-quality format for you to listen to your music.
- For a given file size, Vorbis sounds better than MP3. This means:
- You can keep your music collection at about the same quality level, but it'll take up less space
- or you can have your music collection take up about the same amount of space, but have it sound better.
- Vorbis already enjoys widespread support in audio software and many digital portable players support it as well.
interesting cnet article and links within it: it only compares spotify and apple but i like it as it goes into the methods used
and some of the more technical things. Spotify vs. Apple Music: Is there a difference in sound quality?

while i'm on Tidal hifi, i have merged some of my spotify lists over ...tonight i was listening to a hendrix
collection on my ipod touch and dragonfly red (sony xb90ex)..
(done by the app soundiz: https://soundiiz.com/help)
while listening I thought..''jeez this is pretty good and clear....tidal hi fi is not half bad''
and then i checked the production data: heck it was a spotify collection i'd moved over to Tidal!![]()
enjoy a classic...what a killer song...haunting riffs...imagine had jimi not left us so early...![]()

yeah its basically whatever you enjoy.ive never heard of nine to the universe.ill have to check that out. Ive been a huge hendrix fan since i was a kid so that will be something i want to hear .always wondered what direction he would have gone in.ive always thought he would be one to push music as far as it could go and not worry about being main stream. Whatever he would have done would have been great!+1 for Jimi Hendrix. Ever heard Nine to the Universe? I like to think that may indicate a direction he may have gone in.
As for the differences between Tidal HiFi, Standard and Spotify. All that really matters is if you enjoy listening more or not.
Having had a Spotify Premium account for several years, I changed to Tidal. Partly for Lossless but more to support a service that at least claims to represent the interests of musicians.
At £10 for Spotify I always felt a bit like I was stealing. £20 per month is much nearer to what I was paying for CD's.
Has Tidal enhanced my listening over Spotify? No.

i have been doing that lately myself.i dont have any cd's due to them all being stolen and i dont use itunes but i constantly search for new artist on spotify.i read a lot of iem reviews and lots of times they will name artist that they listened to with whatever iem they are reviewing. I found this amazing acoustic guitar player named sungha jung on a review. I really enjoyed him so i researched other musicians similar to sungha jung and found another guy named trace bundy that is absolutely amazing.i will find an artist on spotify with the discover option and then google similar artist and have found some really great artist.you know when i was first into streaming i realized i was just listening to my usual favourite artists/songs repeatedly
...then I thought...duh....why pay rental for the same old when you could own or already have some of these as itunes?
so since you're renting all this free muisc, better go and really explore, take advantage of it all...so i'm trying now to limit my favs
to a brief period and really get out of my comfort zone to explore new stuff.
anyone done similar?
I don't think it is productive to continue in this line of debate. Tidal is lossless, and a great streaming service with a huge library and applications available on several software platforms. What is potentially equivalent in sound quality is just speculation. If anyone enjoys Tidal lossless and appreciates the sound quality over any other streaming service, for whatever reason, it shouldn't matter. The student and military discounts are fantastic for those that qualify. It's not for me, as I feel that alternative streaming solutions offer more of what I want, but I have enjoyed Tidal and will most likely use it again in the near future.

Those who promote double-blind testing often come across to me as arrogant elitists who believe they are smarter than anyone else.
Those are some pretty harsh, and I'm not sure how you can support them, judgements and assumptions about the motives of people. Just be glad that medical research has a bunch of arrogant, elitists working in the field insisting on scientific rigor in research.

I don't think having a different opinion makes somebody an elitists or that they feel smarter than everybody else. People have differing views on almost everything you could ever imagine or discuss. Are all those who don't agree or have knowledge in an area that others might lack elitist know-it-alls? I don't think so.

You're not wrong, but you semi-ruined your response by phrasing things in a sort of arrogant, elitist way!![]()
