Unless Neutron team wants to get and OPUS wants to share certain code then it's not gonna be a Hi-Res option. Most folks don't think it makes that much of a diff but when you pay a lot for a DAP you don't wanna turn it into a droid

If you compare the device overall features, it might be, since Opus #2 has streaming abilities, is touchscreen, and has more potential. The sound alone is something you should compare and decide. I have not heard both, so cannot comment on the sound, but having heard Opus #2, I can guarantee that it will impress anyone who hears it!

It is quite the magical DAP and has one of the most musical and organic sounds I've heard.

That would be interesting actually! So far, it has supported all the apps I've thrown at it pretty well, but official support for neutron would be even better!

Sorry I have only heard the QP1R for a short quick listen, compared to extensive listening time with the Opus#2.
Hopefully someone with a decent experience of both can chime in and help.

Ok, so I tested how much Opus #2 loses during stand-by.

In about 12 hours of stand-by (not turned off), it lost about 3% of battery, fromn 100% to 97%.

The Opus #2 only has optical output, the USB does not send audio out,

You can use the Opus #2 as an external DAC when used with a computer or android phone etc...
