it's pricier and currently output impedance is unknown.
Yes pricier no doubt. However the build materials seem to be different as well as the SoC and the likes. I agree the output impedance might be an issue.

What’s the Opus#1 startup time with current FW?

From totally powered down mine takes about 30 seconds to start, and an additional 2 minutes to scan through about 2200 songs.

Since it has 'deep sleep' function though, I almost never have it totally powered down. From deep sleep power on is almost instantaneous, and it will hold a decent amount of charge for a week or two of without use.

Cool, thank you. Just bought one, deep sleep feature will be very useful.

I consider the deep sleep feature to be essential. If I power down, upon reboot my Opus takes10-15 minutes to scan the contents of my two filled 128 GB cards. I don't know why they have it set like that to rescan the entire data base on boot up. Why not just have the user choose to do it if it needs to be done? Like on the Cayin N3.

If I don't power it down and I want to add a couple of albums I just do that with the Opus plugged into the computer. The new albums will be there without a rescan. I will take the cards out and use a card reader on the computer if I need to do a large amount of file maintenance. For that I would power down before removing the cards.

I post the question directly to OPUS....sometime we can wait ages to get answer here...its normal, but can be faster finding the answer by yourself.

Still very curious about this dap, I don't quite understand the 1500$ price of #2 toughs....the 1 take a big plunge in price, as now it can be found for 350, wich is why I was so impress about his potential price value that look out of this world.
Opus #2 has always been slightly overpriced in my opinion, because it clearly lacks capacity at this very high price-point.
After Opus #1, they REALLY should have kept both microsd slots or gone with 256Gb internal capacity instead of 128Gb.
Or gone with a price in the 1000$ pricerange.

To me, whatever the sonic qualities of a DAP, the price should mostly be set to be competitive in terms of actual features.
In that regard, Opus #2 is not ideally priced, when Opus #1 is actually fairly cheap given its specs.

I posted some pictures and a small note in the Opus#1 thread about the 1s a while back.
I listened to it at a Tokyo show in October (?) and volume matched it with an Opus#1 and listened to them both.

In short. Opus#1 is more flat/linear/reference style, 1s has more body and depth to it

Need a Opus 1s thread..

@ExpatinJapan, so you're saying that the #1s is not necessarily an upgrade to the sound of the #1, just a different signature? Perhaps in driving power yes, the #1s is an upgrade.
