I just updated to 0.5c my AK4499 Pro Zishan DSDs, I was too lazy to update for a month or so. I noticed, it is a lot more detail, and a lot brighter as well, even on Turbo mode, the heat isn't so bad either. But why is it brighter?

Is the Soundstage any wider? Or is it simply brighter?

Soundstage about the same, though instruments behind the singer seem to go further behind by a bit. It's Brighter...

i was thinking of purchasing the dual ak4497 dsds (after AKM recovered in april lmao)
but i saw that some thread says that there is a delay if i were to use the 4497 dsds as a USB DAC,
so i was wondering if the delay in USB DAC mode is noticeable or not.

since if it is very noticeable i was thinking of purchasing an ak4497 decoder board i found on aliexpress instead

Though i am not sure how much worse the sound will be XD.

It's about a second delay.

I will do more testing with other headphones before deciding to downgrade or not.

i was wondering if there was anyway to mod it or upgrade it somehow for it to reach 24 bit/96KHz

Go ahead and change the USB chip

Delay is caused by MCU implemented on zishan (digital board) and used libraries, no independent USB decoder is implemented. Until reverse-engineering the SO,
We can't do anything with it, if you want that sampling rate, seek U1.

I have seen some in stores, you could upgrade amanero usb board, upgrade power lines, upgrade opamps and fine tune parameters and passive components.

I made a small compilation:
DSDs Dual AK4497 OP275 + Muses 8820
DSDs ~ + ADIII Tube 6021 + Muses 8820

DSDs have removed caps from 3,5mm PO.
Recorded via RAW line-in by Zoom H2n to 16bit flac from 16bits flac.
Files was normalized to -0,2.

What's is yours impressions? Can you type which part of track have added Tube preamplificarion?

Maybe use warmer gear and change the opamps... I think the signal from the DAC is cleaner with the new update.
