Interesting, in my ak4497 they installed 2 blue ELNA RE3 10V 220uF caps near the 3.5" jack
Don't know what to say
I got these

I want to see what happens if I double them

Don't have anything to measure with right now, but I'm sure they are bootleg, I read a long time ago that most of the components are fakes in these players

That's a big reason I ordered new, and figure I would try a few options, 220uf seems too little, some of the songs I listen too have really hard and deep sub bass and it can't push it at all, I need to reduce the sub bass about 1-3 decibels when I really want to boost it up, and although this might not give the boost, as long as I don't need to reduce then I am happy

Fake caps and noisy voltage regulator/converter (whatever it was called) aside, the stock dsd still sounds great

I'm listening to the 2.5 output and after all these mods the player sounds good :)
Some of the mods improved the sound, others are subtle, but I'm doing this to learn and for fun.
I still planned to change the power supply reserve caps and other components in the power supply.

I'll also have to hear the 3.5 output an see what I want there.

If I remember correctly, there are only the two large (220uF Elna) electrolytic caps, in series with the 3.5mm TRS Single-Ended output.
I don't have my DSD here at work today (currently disassembled at home) - so, I'm wondering whether there are any series capacitors between the LPF op-amps and the 2.5mm TRRS Balanced output jack?

Milkman player has 2x 470uF (factory installed), instead of 2x 220uF like the rest of us, see photo above.

After the LPF opamps, there are only 4 resistors to the 2.5mm jack.

Over in the Single-Ended circuit, the socketed op-amp drives a set of discrete transistors, which are connected through the series resistors and electrolytic caps, to the 3.5mm TRS jack.
Is Zishan using the op-amp for voltage gain, and then using the transistors to provide more output current?
If so, how much current is that discrete drive stage able to provide?
I know that the OPA1622 (Dual Op-Amp (VSON-10) on DIP-8 header) can provide >110mA @ ±14VDC, but I really do like the sound of my Sparkos SS3602 (Dual Discrete Op-Amp on DIP-8 header), which is capable of 15mA in Class A mode, and 50mA in Class AB mode.
