Sure have. I've been running the latest WM 6.5 RC1 for over a month now and it works nicely for something that originally came with WM 5. But anyways, enough off topic. Does anyone know the specs of the 3GS? CPU model, RAM, etc.

Apple hasn't given the specs yet. They've just said its "2X" faster. People are speculating that means at least twice the ram, and possibly a slightly faster processor.

well just seen the o2 data plans and they can go spin

if they think im going to pay more for data because its going to a laptop and i have to pay every month in the off chance i might want to use it they can think again.

apple just sell the bloody things sim free, then i might think about it.

Just checked with apple, looks like if I tried to upgrade to the new phone now I'd be looking at $500, not worth it at all... In December I'll be able to upgrade at a new contract price, I'm going to wait until then.

Argh. AT&T wants an extra $200 if you haven't had the 3G for more than a year. I'll have to look back, but I upgraded to the 3G late last July, IIRC. I will buy the 3GS, though. I believe it has a much faster proc and 256MB of RAM, up from 128MB. I use the iPhone all the time, so the performance boos will be very welcome. I'll probably just get the 16GB version. I've been managing with 8GB, so I'll put off 32GB for next year's upgrade.

Also, nice return of fire to Palm! I don't think they were expecting a $99 3G to compete with the Pre. Reminds me of when Apple undercut the Zune on its release.

The 13" MBP is exactly what I'd been hoping for, too. I've had a 13" white MacBook for almost three years and have been thinking about an upgrade. One of the big selling points for me with the new model is that it'll hold up to 8GB of RAM. Nice.

I actually kind of feel bad for the Pre, it's apparently got a great OS but poor hardware. (Both in design and build quality)

I hoping for a new ipod touch. Either more memory (like 64g) would be nice or I settle if I could just get 3g servise on it instead of the wifi. I know I could use the iphone but I dont need the phone, just the data package. no need to pay a extra 70 bucks if I dont have too. I can also hope that they come out with the mac tablet. Its been said that they did order a bunch of 10 inch touch screens. Ill keep my fingures crossed.

Where does Apple get off calling the new OS 3.0 (should be more like 1.2) just by adding silly things like cut and paste?

Anyways, I am leaning towards the Pre, but tethering really piqued my interest. Now only if ATT would be more forthcoming with details there.

the keyboard of the pre is unfortunate. the os looks great though it does not support old palm stuff which i think is a big misfortune.

I believe there's an emulator for that:

Migrate Your Palm OS Data to the Palm Pre

I heard that too, I also heard they have been getting shipments of books.. so a kindle type system could also be in the works. I am definitely hoping for a nice little tablet though.

what will u do with more RAM?...it runs only one app at a time...even the new iphone 3gs doesnt support multi-apps i heard (pls confirm)

one of the reasons i sold my iphone 3g.

I think if you jailbreak it, some form of multi-tasking is possible.

was waiting to see what phone i was going to get next, my 1st gen iphone is nearing the end by intermittent microphone break up in that the person on the other end gets gaps

its been a good phone, paid 240 or something a month before it came out in the uk, no contract, now i see the 3rd gen with stupid contracts,
£184 for phone
+£34 for 600mins 500 texts
+charge for a dongle

i dont think so, plus the phone is pretty poor upgrade imo, firmware thats good but phone? no, 3mp camera? pathetic! doesnt even tempt me!

atm look at my first possible sony phone purchase, the satio..
