The WS99/WS77 PG 57..

Not sure why but I just went back to Jaben to trial out the WS99s and the ES700s for the 3rd time. While the upper mids of the ES700 are sweeter than honey especially at the climax of a song (nearly sends shivers), I feel like the WS99s' additional oomph to the bass region just makes it more fun to listen to as a day-to-day pair of headphones.

That isn't to say the mids are missing at all.. I tried it with non-bass songs and it shines just as gloriously (listen to Yozoh - Nostalgia, or Bruno Mars - When I Was Your Man).

This blend of bass without skimping on my beautiful mids really is my ideal sound signature; the ES700s' tight bass is perhaps a tad too shallow for my complete lacking.

Don't even get me started on the comfort.. The WS99s just blow it out of the lake. The housing of the wires are thicker and more durable looking too.

That's all I can say from my numerous trials of it at the store. I'd love it if I could stay for hours and play around with different songs with it.

You don't need someone else to push you to buy them. It sounds like you know what you want..What you heard is just a sample of them and not even owning them to where you can really experience the headphones.. It is a headphone you can truly get your monies worth and enjoy..When I listen to my WS99s. It has the type of sound where you can get lost in your tunes and not one that has you listening for flaws or any type if weirdness. And in the end if you end up enjoying your tunes. Isn't that what it is all about.?

Don't tempt me so! If Ds chimes in with his legendary enthusiasm I swear I might haha

Jaben sells them for about $350 whereas I can get it for about ~$150 from amazonjp and then add maybe $25 shipping from Tenso. Australians always get shafted locally I swear. :/

Just got mine from Amazon JP+ tenso for 205 ( $165 for WS99+$40 delivery to Oz)

The picture you attached shows a WS99 for almost $200. Amazon JP is much cheaper...

Regular old American amazon is going to have them real soon. You better hurry up and buy before they get sold out again, which happened to me. Sure they cost 240 but they'll drop in price soon. I've seen this happen too many times before!

I did it. For $152.94AU, my new Audio Technica ATH-WS99 Solid Bass is enroute to Tenso! Should be arriving there tomorrow (my birthday, which would be great) or the day after, and then I'll get to see exactly what the shipping costs are. I'm so pumped!
