Peoples accounts get hacked and then end up inadvertently sending $5000 to mumbai instead of North Carolina because they think they're talking to Jim in North Carolina but they're actually talking to Rajesh. Even if a person has good feedback and has been active, they're account could have been compromised months ago with the intention of pulling off a big heist on a high dollar item. I require a bunch of proofs and I wanna see your whole family tree and everyone's ID on every branch leading to you, I wanna know your great grandfathers favorite hobby and your great uncles favorite tea.

I've had to completely change what my idea of sound stage was after getting the MPD-8 + MPS-X. There is a level of holography and depth of field I have never experienced before. WIth IEMs it feels like sometimes the sound is coming from behind your head and at the top of your trapezius or bottom of your ear. THe space between the drummer and guitarist is shocking. It feels almost like the IEM is being bent to the point of breaking, like its struggling. Dont know how to describe it. I guess this is what you get when you go top tier DAC. Will report back on whether it cured immanis.

It needs a 'big hitter' here on the Watercooler thread to take Paypal collections drftr, I was hoping someone well known here would volunteer. If it was $500 we're talking about I'd say that's a hard lesson but the two incidents are serious amounts. I know they were a bit silly sending FF (if both did) but many of us do it sometimes to show trust, though for smaller amounts, and only to people who are well known with lots of feedback (though even then it's a risk). I thought this could be a one off collection as many are appalled at what's happened. Maybe we can send a pm to whoever takes the donations for their paypal details, and the amounts should be anonymous to save any embarrassment. Most of us here spend $1K+ regularly on gear so $10 or $20 is not much to give to people who have been taken advantage of.

I sometimes turn buyers away if they have very little or no feedback and I always request this in an ad. I feel mean but this is why.

It's a Kickstarter project, already with a lot of references on the web, that contain zero information. Based on that it looks like a complete scam, a "something with a high price", but it most likely isn't.

A few weeks ago, I reached out to them via email inquiring about the availability of a demo for me to test out. After a week, I got a brief response stating that they do not offer demos for customers in the US. Their recent decision to launch through Kickstarter is concerning to me, especially considering my past negative encounters with the platform in terms of buyer safety.

I will keep looking for "the" great true wireless iem or ciem!!

I too have been trying to "fix" certain things about Anni23. I'll be sticking with Baroques as they provide me with the best combination of seal and comfort, but I have commissioned a custom cable that I hope will do the trick. It's still being made, but if it works out, I'll let you know.

The only thing that needs fixing on the Anni are the nozzle angle honestly. I miss that treble, but I don't miss the pain setting in

It's basically a secret, one-off prototype, as that cable doesn't officially exist. I had it commissioned especially for Anni23, based on a hunch, after going through an Anni23 cable rolling journey over in @FreeWheelinAudioLuv2's Musicopia thread.

The dude making the cable doesn't intend on making it publicly available -- at least not until I can test it, and confirm that it doesn't make Anni sound like total ass (it could easily do just that, we won't know until we try).

I’m also sorry to read what happened to you. It’s so frustrating. I know exactly how you feel as I’m experiencing a similar situation now.
The seller of OTL cable is definitely responsible - he did not provide you the tracking number and shipped with post without discussing it with you. For $100 the cable could have been shipped Express overseas and fully tracked. If he can afford 2 months vacation, he should be able to refund you.
Anyways, let’s hope in a positive outcome and thank you for sharing your experience and warning us.

I see you have Camelot, how does it compare to Moses? Thanks

Camelot sounds very different. I find it more relaxed, with fewer details on the OG cable. The highs do not extend as much as Moses's, and the vocals are not as forward as Moses's. The bass are fluffy and less condensed. I always visualize Camelot as a fluffy pillow (or warm blanket) on which you can fall asleep with the music (I did, on a few occasions, fall asleep while listening to it).
In contrast, Moses is more exciting and dynamic, with a larger sound overall. The bass has more authority, and the highs are well extended. You will hear things that you cannot hear on the camelot, especially on the vocal region.

Hi everyone. I saw the above message from @dpeterfy32, clicked the link, paid him and now realize I made my biggest classifieds buying mistake to-date and wanted to warn everyone against dealing with this crook.

I paid this active head fier $1600 for his Ode To Laura cable through the classifieds after seeing the above post. He claimed he would send by EMS from Hungary to USA and $100 of the the price was for that. I specifically requested tracking which EMS, at $100, should provide. At the outset, based on our initial conversation, his feedback and his time on Head Fi, I made the unforgivable error of paying F&F via PayPal, something I will certainly not do again. So, just saying upfront, I accept the responsibility for how this will end, it's my bad.

Three days later, Feb 13, he said he sent the cable through Hungarian post (?) and that once the package was in the USA, I would receive an email with tracking info (?). I asked him for a receipt, tracking or any other proof of post, which he claimed he didn't have. I asked how we could track this without such but he was annoyed by the question, essentially telling me to be patient. I usually am, but proof of posting had been requested from the beginning without any substantive response.

So I waited and, considering he'd been an active member here, I tried not to worry. Well, a couple of weeks passed and I heard and received nothing. I DM'd him about this, and lucky him, he said he was on a 2 month vacation (!), but when he was back, he would check ! I responded that wasn't acceptable.

I again told him he needed to provide me some proof of post with which I could verify shipment and follow up. He said he didn't have anything, was on vacation and couldn't do anything. To which I replied, "I can't wait for 2 months, get me that proof or refund my money". He said "I'm not a store, I don't give refunds" and "once I shipped the risk was on you". I replied "only if you can provide some proof that you actually shipped the cable".

Fast forward to today where I again reiterated my request for proof of post or a refund and told him his handling of the situation wasn't acceptable or reasonable. He responded that he had communicated with his post office and that the package was lost in transit but they were trying to locate it. He finished by saying that since Hungarian post lost it, he still does not owe me a refund. Again, I told him that was not true without proof of actual shipment. He never even sent a pic of the box, label, no receipt, nothing.

I will get, and deserve, castigstion for paying F&F. Stupid, I know, lesson learned! I just didn't think it would happen here! Anyway, I think it goes without saying, this user @dpeterfy32 is not to be trusted, has clearly been dishonest and should be banned from making any further sales on Head Fi unless and until he resolves this situation.

Always 2 sides to a story, but my and his DMs will prove mine and I am happy to show them to anyone interested.

Any other suggestions on what to do here? I won't die over this but it really shakes my faith in our community.

Update on my situation with @dpeterfy32 and his theft. Head Fi is assisting and I have made claims with PayPal and my credit card company. Also, Eric of Eletech read these posts and in his normal, Eric way, reached out to me with sadness that this occurred over one of his products. I am so overcome by my own flood of emotions, from feeling scammed to feeling so supported, that the overall sensation is truly happiness and hopefulness.

I maintain that my loss is my own fault and doing, and I am hopeful for a good resolution, but have no expectations.

The same could be said for the reaction of the entire community; it has been so supportive (despite this being my fault) and I couldn't be more humbled and touched ! I do not ask for or want hand outs, I just want my bad experience to 1) get fairly resolved, and 2) serve as a warning that the brotherhood most of us revere and share here does not mean you should use PP F&F with someone you've not had enough personal interactions with to qualify as "friends and family". That said, I am again humbled and touched to know that so many of you have become exactly that, and I will not let this bad experience taint that!!

I have decided that one bad apple will not, and cannot, shake my love for music or this hobby, or my faith in this amazing community!! I may be done with Friends and Family payments if we've not established a personal relationship, but I am far from done with our hobby and this community! My trust was shaken, but it is not broken !! Love you all!

Mark- it was a pleasure meeting you in person in NY and I hope to attend socal - I’m furious this happened to you and like you - I understand the naivety that comes from this community. I sat around 10s of thousands of dollars in products and reveled in the opportunity. On day 2 I was trying Orpheus lite, with trailli, Supreme legend and Amber pearl cable rolling totl cables and a/b-ing unbothered in bliss. Suddenly I looked around and thought this is so cool - we’re all playing with these toys and there’s this explicit trust that I won’t just walk off with this stuff. And everyone around me was doing the same. Seems this kinda scumbag is rare amongst us and unfortunately some of us gotta take an L to weed them out.
I hope it resolves fairly and I’m down for a trip to Hungary with you if you wanna go old school on it lol

To hear you go through the $hit that you did, really put a damper on the day for me today.

For people who listened Noble Fokus Rex5: I am looking for similar wired IEM more resolving and technicalities, with the same timbre and tonality, good bass and warm, lush midrange, like Felix. Can I have some recommendations?

I am using low volume 30-60%.

I prefer the bass of Felix over Mest MK2 ,despite Mk2 is more refined. To shine is necessary to listen over 50% volume.

Sorry you are going through this. Went through a similar situation, just not with audio gear, and a grand less, but for me, $500 might as well be $5,000. I hope you get some recourse, and this thief is banned from Head-fi permanently?
