Hi Fellas, has anyone compared the SQ on a DAP when using internal storage vs external microSD Card?

Also has anyone compared various microSD cards for SQ? Which ones are the best? For the sake of this discussion, lets just assume that there is an SQ difference between cards and not have a debate about if now.. 😁
Tried 2-3 in various DAPs, only time I heard a detectable difference was micron in 300 MAX SS.

If anyone in Europe was thinking of giving Swissbit a try, I placed a double order and I have two extras (256gb) available.

Any French headfiers here like @Andricop, @davidmolliere and @DaveStarWalker?

I will be in Paris for 13 hours before heading to Provence on June 7th at 2 PM via train.

Landing sometime early on 6th. Would love to spend evening / morning with you all before I head to the station.

If you’re in the city and have the spot for me to crash, let me know too!
Penciled in!

For those who have extensively heard Volür (@gLer?), would a 1950s (shielded/non-shielded) be too warm and also magnifying bass too much? Would First Times (shielded/non-shielded) have more control over the bass while adding a bit of airyness, definition, imaging, palpability, and dynamics compared to 1950s?

I have a "highly regarded" (according to the WM1ZM2 thread) Micron microSD that replaced a Sandisk Extreme Pro and didn't hear any difference.
I bought the Micron just because it was the only one available in 1.5 TB.
Swissbit is even more highly regarded than Micron in the Sony forum.
I tried the micron and Sandisk simultaneously on the RS2 and couldnt hear a difference :p

I didn't find 1950s too warm with the Volür at all, but then I don't consider the 1950s to be a particularly warm cable. It's an excellent pairing.

For me too, a big thanks to everyone that made the meet a reality!
I learned so much!

For me the iem highlights where (all where reviewed on an ibasso dx260, storm and p0 on a ifi diablo 2 aswell):

Campfire audio Trifecta : I know it's a polarizing set, for me it hits exactly the right way.. Very natural, very very full/thick sounding, amazing bass. And wears very comfortable for me too.

Fir Audio Xenon 6: it's similar in style as the trifecta, so liked this one a lot too. I think that the trifecta has better mids, but as a whole this one has a very "fun" sound signature that pleased me a lot.

Subtonic Storm: Detail for days on end, what a set! This one does everything right, very speaker like. They are enormously power hungry though.

Simphonio P0: The best planar iem I have heard. Sounds almost dd-like in the bass and a very nice treble that's not too hot or fatiguing.

Rozenkrans RK Ruthenium : super fun set but definitely way too expensive for what is. Build quality is really amazing though!

Let's make this a yearly thing! I will definitely be present next time😃
Next time you guys have a meet, let me know and I will get you a batch of watercooler name tags. Easy for me to get done quickly. Just need help defraying the cost.

About how much are they? I wouldn't mind getting a few extra to stash in various bags, just to make sure I never forget mine again. That has to be more cost-effective than having them overnighted to me for CanJams. @wazzupi @jude

I bought the Micron just because it was the only one available in 1.5 TB.

They are no longer the only ones, Sandisk has also released a 1.5 TB SD card which is much cheaper than the Micron.

FYI, on March 30 the first 2TB SD card by Kioxio (formerly Toshiba) will be available

2 tb is the maximum capacity that can be achieved with the sdxc standard.

2TB on a tiny piece if plastic and silicon. I remember buying 256MB memory sticks from Sony for PSP, and I’m not even old.

64AUDIO VOLÜRSince I have demoed most 64Audio IEMs I thought “Why not?”
Followed by a “This is it!” within the first 5 seconds of listening. This is the exact tonal balance I have been looking for for years, even if it comes at the cost of not being the most resolving IEM. I really need to give this one more time with a great cable like 1950s Shielding to see if I can make it more bodied; perhaps throwing in a NuTube DAP to top it off. Not exactly pinpoint positioning so I need to give that a thought. Biggest surprise of the weekend and at a fraction of the cost of some of the other IEMs I tried. Probably the best combination of my previously owned U18t and my Sultan. Tempted!
I hadn't had a lot of experience with 2k+ IEM when I got the Volur, but this is how I felt when I first heard them. But of course I had FOMO reading constantly about these other 3k+ IEM and naturally wanted to explore more. So after an audition at MusicTeck with 5 other 3K+ IEM, including some 5K iem, and going to CanJam in NYC the other week mostly to just A&B a bunch of 3k+ IEM to see what I might want to get next, I left feeling the same way you did after your first 5 second impression, 'This is it', except instead of an exclamation point, since by then I'd listened to them for hours and A/B'd them next to tens of thousands of dollars of other well-spoken of IEM, it was more like a solid period. 'This is just it for me.' After auditioning like 50 grand in other IEMs.

What do you listen to musically mostly?

These are my go to all-rounders they just play my tastes in music better than anything I've heard. I can't say another IEM might not be better to me for this band's music or something like that, but nothing comes close for my tastes to the Volur in that I can put on any playlist I have and be very very satisfied. You seem to have a lot of experience with high end IEM, so give them another whirl, curious as to more thoughts and others that may buy. I think they are a sleeper here as 64 Audio is not as edgy as newer more exciting always new stuff. But if you are a treble resolution monster, they won't do it. But for everyone else...

Now instead of looking for a replacement for the Volur, I'm looking for a more specialist IEM set for some of my music. The Trifecta is top of the list for that, but they could not be my all rounders at all. I'm going back to focus on my end-game full sized cans now that I found the Volur - Caldera or Empyrean II, a totl planar basically, not DD.
