I tested it with the Sony Goldbrick, which was a beautiful pairing definitely had some secret Elysian treble sauce in it ..
What DAPs did Elysian bring? I haven’t seen a photo of their booth.

Okay well I’m two hours out from landing back home in Houston and officially out several thousands of dollars…

Lotoo Mjolnir order placed 🫣 that thing absolutely blew my mind. The way it presented music was so clean and pure, incredible transparency and resolution but handling it all in such an effortless and organic manner. It felt like the equivalent of breathing incredibly fresh air. I was on the verge of tears pretty much the entire time I was listening to it at the MusicTeck booth. This was all through Bluetooth as well so I’m looking forward to hearing how much better it can be with a dedicated source feeding it.

It is so pretty too 😍

I don’t think you will regret it. Do you intend to do in-case charging?

Elysian Pilgrim sounds amazing. Excited to try it during Canjam SG. How is its midrange and technicalities.
I'll have to wait until SoCal to get my taste.

As I'm sorting through my phone pictures from the show, came across another cool one. Straight from Japan at CanJam NYC, Masanori Neko-san Masuda, Mr MASS-Kobo himself. Didn't have a chance to talk to him, but I thought this was a cool shot with him in person next to his background picture :)

Cross post from the CanJam Impressions thread:

I spent quite a bit of time with them over several listening sessions since I have been very interested in it due to my love for Red Halo. After the first 3 seconds, I was in love with them. They are every bit as technically impressive as Amber Pearl which is my current favorite IEM. After a quick a/b test. There is more bass then the Red Halo and less than Amber Pearl. There is definitely an emphasis place on the mids. My only issue with it after the first day may have been the bass timbre was not as good as Amber Pearl. Amber Pearl and Storm have the best BA bass of any sets I have heard.

On day two, I came back to it and then did some a/b testing with Mason FS and Red Halo. It was here that I really remember what I love about Red Halo. It is really targeted toward vocals and it tuned better for them with slightly reduced bass level. This makes it a perfect vocals specialist and also as equally good with strings which makes up a large share of my collection. Mason FS is not that because the elevated bass gets in the way of a pure vocal set.

So, Mason FS is trying for a more all arounder type tuning which would make it more generally appealing. For me, I have the Amber Pearl as my favorite all arounder and the Red Halo as a vocal specialist. I wish UM decided to stay more true with the Red Halo tuning concept. I was looking for a Red Halo with superior technicals. As a result, I am probably not going to pick one up right away. But, inevitably I need it in my collection to complete the set.

I love the new FTS cable. It's much more ergonomic than the original FTS which is one of my favorites. And, the build quality seems much improved.

I also sent 3 IEMs through to UM for refurbishment for their generous program from last month, they are going to refurb both the IEM and the cables. Really happy with UM at the moment.

Battle of the Five Cables. Forgot to include Liquid Links Martini. Oh well it doesnt have conx so it can't join the club haha

This review is for the Vortex cable tour. Thanks to @Natesdailies for the tour. From upper left going clockwise... Monarch MkII stock, Seraphina, Lavinia, EA Cleo II Octa, Alida. DAP used is ibasso dx320 max. IEMs used are Monarch MkII and Annihilator ti 2023.
I'm not very good with describing sound so I made an old fashioned chart. I'm also sitting too comfortably on the couch and don't wanna get up to write my review on my PC with the more proper excel sheet lol.

For Mona, Lavinia pairs best because it brings out the Mona's strength better which is the mids. Seraphina is good too and a better value than Lavinia.

For Anni 2023, I prefer the Seraphina for that nice sparkly but not fatiguing magical treble from the Anni and Anni already has plenty of bass anyways. Oh I forgot about the Martini! I'd say it's a very slightly warmer version of the Lavinia. Lavinia has slightly cleaner sound. There's no clear definite upgrade between the Martini, Seraphina, and Lavinia and more of preference, IEM pairing, and type of music. Cleo is a big upgrade overall, but has a warm and analog sound and for some genres I like the seraphina better.

I do not like the Alida at all for either one. There were some much more sensitive IEM's that I've tried but currently don't have so I'm guessing Alida might work better for those IEMs, but for both my IEMs the sound felt off... mids got somewhat anemic and at first I thought the treble was better compared to the other two but it's a case where because the mids worsened it gave that false sense of elevated/improved treble.

Adding a splash of colours to a boring Monday.

Got into the TZ700 club a bit late. Thanks to @Scuba Devils for answering my relentless barrage of questions before purchasing it. Head-fi classifieds helped me big time.

Initially, I was not exactly blown away by it, but man, did it grow on me! That massive subbass, that immaculate mid and treble details, that deep stage - just beautiful. Also found out it needs a bit more power compared to the other IEMs I have to sound proper. Although the Hiby R3 II here drives it just fine, on high gain.

This has a very unique sound signature, and I frankly find it very enjoyable to keep it in my rotation permanently.

Congrats, a very unique IEM and absolutely has a permanent place in my collection too. Great to hear you are enjoying!

People asked me to give more detailed impressions of Onyx. @Smirk 24 left some nice impressions. I couldn't have said it better.

"I heard Onyx!
Onyx was an enjoyable, easy listen.
Nice sub-bass/mid-bass quantity. Mid-bass is a bit soft sounding. Lacks impact, maybe a little pillowy.
I thought the dynamics could have been better and the staging was unremarkable.
Nice voicing, no shout. No upper-mids to lower treble sharpness. Overall very well-tuned."

I did get a chance to a/b test Onyx with Kublai Khan. I much preferred KK as it has much more clarity and linearity in the mids. Really nice bass quality and quantity. I like them both, but since I already have KK, I am not going to pick it up when it is released. I also got a second listen with Spartacus, I liked it more after the second listen as it sounded more coherent to me this time. Still the bass quality is not to my preference, so it is still not a set that I want to pick up. I liked Onyx much more than Spartacus.

I think Kublai Khan is a forgotten hidden gem. It is an excellent IEM that does not get as much attention as its overall quality would suggest.

Very pleased with the complementary sets of Viking Damascus, Ronin, Kublai Khan and FoKus Prestige. They pretty much cover my preferences and needs.

Fully agree with this. Excellent IEM. Some find the treble too elevated. It is quite present but to my ears very well done.
