As a Canadian FiR audio tour rapidly approaching.. get your wallet out and fingers ready boys 😂

N6ii-Ti + KR5 with Azla Crystals = OM(f)G
I had a hard time deciding between KR5 and XE6. Although I like how it sounds on paper the KR5, I know I'll get ear fatigued soon with the detail level it has, so I went with XE6 for now. Let's see how it sounds when I receive it in few weeks!

Note to self: use the word clinical with caution, especially around popular IEMs.

I think maybe this is a wood for the trees scenario. It would be very easy for me to remove the small number of tracks that introduced offensive words into the review, but then what's the point?

Almost every IEM will play some music in a way that doesn't align with certain preferences, but I try give a balanced opinion in reviews as much as subjective hearing and preferences allows. Great IEMs will have more of my music in their lane than not, which is why I consider EXT (and Z1R and EVO and IE 900) great IEMs.

Yeah that makes sense - funny how easy it is to skim a word such as 'sometimes' and have a very different outcome. Now, can you please specify to two decimal points, the exact percentage of times it occurs? ...joking of course!

Just out of curiosity: how do you know all this? I have noticed that the Cowon store on Amazon no longer carry any DAPs and I have been wondering why. You seem to have inside information :)
I enquired a while back about a few things, new products being one of them. It took sometime for a reply but finally received one a few days ago. Looking forward to something new from Cowon.

It’s built on unstable post-glacial rock slope. If you suddenly don’t hear from me, you know what happened now 😝
Oh wow. I love the woods, I love the mountains, I love timber houses. You have no idea how much I hate you right now how insanely jealous I am how wonderful it is to see a place like this. 😜😅

Looks amazing! 👌 My first reaction was something like...

I have a Plenue L incoming, been looking for a Cowon for a while, glad you like it.

Cowon are producing the D3 which will be available in March/April, once finished they will re-release some of their older models, then they will schedule a new product.

Hopefully a new flagship DAP is in the works!
I used the Plenue 2 for a long time when I started reviewing and that was a wonderful and refined DAP. Looking forward to see what Cowon will do. I feel there is not enough attention for them at the moment.

It would be amazing to see something new from them. I've incredibly fond memories of their stunning X5 DAP way back in 2005.

Thanks for your compliment. I am actually more of ocean person so I am incredibly jealous of my friend’s place in nearby island.

Ya'll are finally welcome to visit again as of tomorrow, late summer/early autumn really is the best time to visit the east coast of Australia as you can see above. I'll be happy to be your guide in Sydney and environs as long as you bring gear I can't demo here

Wow beautiful 🤩. When my family immigrated to Canada 30 years ago, our first choice was Vancouver followed closely by Sydney and Auckland.

Finally got my set of Xenns Mangird Tea2...after just shy of a week of burn-in and listening initial impressions are that these are an excellent set at this price point..perfect tonality for my preference... neutral leaning towards a tad of bright timbre with good bass, excellent treble and good treble extension (at my age probably no hearing beyond 16 kHz anyway)...a like for singer songwriters, classic 70s and 80s rock, female vocalists...IMO better than ISN Audio H50, but not as good as TSMR Land (coming from a mids and treble head)...and very far from UM MEST MkII...solid choice at around USD 350...

To all good people here, I have a question - How relevant is the L&P W2 in present day? From twister6 review, it seems the RU6, W2, and S2 all are comparable to each other with minute changes in tonality. I have a W2 with me currently, and enjoying it. But I'm a bit on the fence whether to plunge for it or not. The price I am getting it for is rather attractive - around $199. Are there any better portable solution at this price range out there? May be at a lower price range but with similar performance?
Also, any idea whether the W2-131 is better by any means? I've read on the W2 thread that the 131 has thicker notes, But I'm not sure whether I require that.

I also have Earmen Sparrow currently, and of course I'll have to let it go to acquire the W2. From initial A/B-ing I felt W2 has a bit more separation and imaging and a bit less bass, which I was looking for. Output power in low gain is quite above the Sparrow also, balanced out of course.

RU6 is so good, I never listen to W2 anymore.
