Although I truly dislike gold my favourite museum ever is the museo d'oro in Bogotá that I visited 3 times. Totally unbelievable Inca craftmanship! Should you ever get close...

The gold museum in Lima is also very good. Same folks.

It's amazing how a once largest "civilization" achieved that without wheel, drafted animal, writing system, money system, or even a market.

BTW, today I picked up an IEM that I haven't visited for a long time, the OG Monarch, and pairing it with Effect Audio Code 24 cable, listening music with RU6 from my MacBook, it is surprisingly good!

Its been a long time coming, but finally here: dcs lina amp. (And yes primarily for IEM’s 😅)
Congrats! As a DAC you still plug the DAPs into it?

Have been exploring this area as well for the recent days:

No gold here, but the sound is golden. The beautiful PS cables from the EU tour.
I think they are Copper XL and Silver plated Copper XL. Wonderfully crafted and good sounding.

Here are some of my observations, bear in mind that I've no experience describing sound, but I hope you'll at least like the pictures

The white one elevates just about everything, Traillii OG, Mest Mk3, Project M, Advar, etc. It extends the soundstage of the Traillii even further and brings down the highs just a tiny bit. The bass has a twitch more rumble, but the same nice texture Traillii with a different flavour, why not?! On the UM Mest 3 it brings forward more texture, but some of the sweet mids are depressed. On the Project M it brings that extra bass that was missing. And they look cool together :)

The copper one is similar, sometimes it's even difficult for me to hear a difference. I liked in particular how it pairs with the Advar. I use them to listen to metal mostly and the copper cables gives them that old school fun sound. Play some good old Death and it doesn't get much better.

Beauty shot 🤩

Yeah running it of my daps, but tbh they all sound great on the amp 😅

Though the lotoo dap jumps ahead just a small bit, its natural nature seems to pair exceptionally

It can be funky with the input voltages, but from what I remember Lina dac has two settings 2V and 6V. Should be good with most daps that give 4V in the middle. Also there’s the wm1zm2 that doesn’t have line out I believe

Indeed the sony does not have line-out, still sounds great on volume 120.

But to my ear, the lotoo wins in line-out (I think its 2V)

I just started experimenting with the $1,500 - $2,500 MRP range and following are the IEMs I have ordered

Alambic Ears Mentawai
CraftEars Omnium

On my list in this range is
Acoustune HS 2000 MK 3

If I can manage to go a bit higher to $2,500 - $3,000 MRP range, the following are my preferences.

Nightjar Duality - Yet to be released
7th Acoustics Asteria - Yet to be released

I usually don't buy pre-owned units but would make an exception for the following:

FIR Audio RN6
CFA Trifecta

I haven't tried Dita Perpetua but the Acoustune HS 2000 MK3 looks more interesting to me as of now.
I have the Mentawai now. What do you think about it's sound quality compared to the Craftears Omnium?

Thx

Not sure where to post this and thought the Watercooler might appreciate it. I've never been able to find a case for my portable gear that I'm happy with, so I designed and created my own. Exactly what I need, nothing I don't! :beerchug:
