https://www.discogs.com/release/2255327-Nirvana-NevermindOne of the few disappointments I’ve been experiencing in this hobby is the sad state of some of my favorite music, as heard through some great IEMs. I agree that music recorded from the late 80s through the 90s are especially affected. Music that was in heavy rotation for me during that era, mostly rock and pop, now mostly sounds like garbage through most of my current and recent IEMs, all except for Trifecta.
If mastering was the culprit, I was hoping the deluxe remastering that is being produced for most great rock albums from that era would solve the issue. But new editions of classics such as U2’s Achtung Baby, Nirvana’s Nevermind, and Rage Against The Machine’s debut album still sound like sludge, with zero dynamic range. This would be the reason to always keep room in my roster for Trifecta.
Even the MFSL sounds crap vs this one.
