Wow. You love this IEM. 😍

I enjoyed my time with the 3DT from @SBranson. I found with the mod it had good cohesion. It definitely wasn’t as technically adept as the EE Bravado MKII or the Andromeda 2020. We talked a bit about the 3DT tonight, @SBranson figured it had some dips around the crossovers if your paying attention and to be honest I can’t say I heard them. It definitely didn’t have extension on either end, that I can say. All in all I enjoyed listening to the 3DT and would be happy paying the $400 USD.

Yes I do love it, quite a lot. It's interesting to me how similar the FR of the Isa and 3DT is, especially given that the Isa just pulled me in and swept me off my feet right from the first listen, and the 3DT did not.

I did, and it was brilliant. However it was through my phone.. Not in all its magnificence
I also wanted to share this song earlier. But the graphics of the video on YT was a bit advisory. So just enjoy the sound

The lyrics are actually not in any known language. Aoba Ichiko invented them to sing for this song. She's really talented. And the traditional instruments incorporated reminded me of Bali island as well

Nice I will give it a listen....also Ely through M8 is one of the truly great experiences possible in portable audio right now...I hope you get to hear it that way soon :)

Joined the "Waiting for Isa" group. When is Andrew expected to get them in?

Mid June was my understanding...he's expecting a large bulk order from Oriolus. Glad to see you jumped on the bandwagon...I look forward to your thoughts.

I'll join the group of people giving you an answer here. I asked yesterday and he said Oriolus will be shipping to him June 25 and he expects to ship out to people who bought them in early July.

I sent an email asking as well...I hope it's not that long of a wait but we'll see.

So is time for a new post only about Isabellae?

I'm always happy to read about Isabellae...will be nice to hear others' impressions.

Here's an actual Oriolus Isabellae...apparently for a while they were thought to be extinct.

Oh man, that's too bad. That's a month from now at least
Alternatively, there is also this store where I bought mine from: https://www.fujiya-avic.co.jp/shop/g/g200000058977/
They have them in stock, and are currently offering 10% discount. I can maybe help with sending via DHL to US (~$80)

I might have another line on a set as well...still Andrew has been such a champ for me overall I could probably be content to wait. If I can't be satisfied "slumming it" with Elysium for a month until I have Isa again then it's probably a sign I should seek some sort of professional help lol

That said, here is a picture metaphor of my audio life at the moment:

Your love for these IEMs (and the description) has really sold me on the Isa. I love the look and can't wait to listen to them myself.

Right on man I hope you like them. Literally my only caveat, beyond mediocre isolation, is that I've only heard them through the Shanling M8. It's possible that through a brighter more analytic source they may be a touch bright for some. Through my current rig they are as good as anything I've ever heard in terms of emotional involvement.

So, SBrason, what is your gain setting for your M8 when listening to your Dordo 2020s?

So, SBrason, what is your gain setting for your M8 when listening to your Dordo 2020s?

I almost exclusively use the Dorado with the Qudelix 5k at work. That, in high gain and performance mode, is supposedly 4VRMS.
On the occasions that I've used them on the M8 I toggle between high and turbo. I find the turbo gives the most control and definition but also brings a lot of the sound forward. I find CA iems generally forward, as if being amidst the music, and this is kind of accentuated. For more mid centered music, if I want a more relaxing listen, I'll use high gain. But for bassy music I find it has less control than turbo..
For what it's worth, I find this same dynamic at work with any iem on the M8, just that the Dorado bass seems to benefit from higher gain in terms of speed, decay and separation (ie no bleed into the mids). But that's just my opinion..
It's been confusing and edifying having these Dorados. At night, during quiet time, I've had the Dorado on the M8 with turbo gain and the volume is at "9". These don't need power to get loud but just turning up the volume isn't the same as increasing the gain. That may seem obvious to more technically minded people than myself but I had never come across such an extreme example of this until the Dorados. On low gain and a volume of 30 the performance is not the same as turbo gain and a volume of 17.. The high gain low volume just has better separation, increased resolution and overall a better sound to my ears. Any of the negative reviews I've seen I can kind of recreate by using a low gain source, though I don't dislike them as much as some reviewers.
But of course... YMMV! :)

Have you listened to them off any other source? I currently have an LG v60, Sony zx507, and an ifi hip DAC that I tend to use for IEMs depending on the context. Definitely not opposed to saving up for something else to make the best of the Isa, though.
