I'll have to roll back and jot more detailed comparative notes. The most notable difference I hear is how Raph shifts EXT's mids – improving clarity, details retrieval and layering – it comes off more holographic than with P8 PxS. Treble sounds much more natural and less peaky. Bass sounds tighter while retaining EXT's signature impact with a hint more rumble and texture.
Since we both share N7s, I'll switch this weekend to provide more meaningful impressions since N30LE (Hyper + Tube Classic) is seriously coloring to my impressions, LOL.
At least someone is using their creativity, not just repackaging old designs with a new shiny case and selling it as a new product:
"The T71's DSP processing can add depth, spaciousness, and localization cues to the audio, making it feel more immersive and expansive. By leveraging techniques such as crossfeed, EQ adjustments, 3D processing, and FIR (Finite Impulse Response) filters, the T71 can enhance the stereo audio output and create a sense of soundstage beyond the typical left-right presentation."
That's the most important part really... to hear similarly, and being able to communicate what we hear, even if we love (or not) completely differently.
I actually know people that work in the industry, that listen almost exclusively to Mandopop, with smatterings of Taylor Swift here and there. Absolutely nothing wrong with that! As long they characterize gear accurately apart from personal biases, it's all good.
I hope you hear it soon, would love to see your impressions of it.
Haha, the original version of You Belong With Me was one of my separation torture tracks, just 'cus of how smushed-together everything was in the mix. That said, I do love how they approached Taylor's Version of that Fearless record. The vocals and drums, especially, sound a lot more raw and honest in tone. Even though it's still got some Top-40-ness in its mastering (how loud it is, its emphasis on punch and attack, etc.), I appreciate how they at least mixed it like the semi-country record it was always arranged to be.
idk what was your source listening to storm. if it was sp3000, it is one of the sources that is not endorsed by subtonic team particularly due to what you described. i haven’t yet paired storm with many different sources but it is said to be very transparent therefore source/cable/tips dependent.

The the first time I listened to Storm I was using the R8. That was a good pairing. The second time I did start off with the SP3000 but I was told that it and Storm didn’t work well together. The guy at the booth then let me use their RS8 and that turned out to be really good pairing too.
