Right...that's the only driver that is DD...my bad.Thunder is most definitely DD bass.
Cross posting some very short impressions from the FATFreq thread regarding Grand Maestro and MSE...
TL;DR - love both, but MSE works better for my library.
Finally getting to demo the Grand Maestro. I definitely vibe with this sound too but thankfully I don’t feel the need to buy these. They sound a bit less U shaped to me than the MSE with some added mid bass and overall fuller and more organic mids. For vocals, I’d say GM is the better set. I do not however like the vocal oriented switch as it’s too mid focused for me but I appreciate how different it is to the non vocal side. I listen to a large amount of electronic and for me the MSE works better there with its leaner and snappier sound, it also sounds larger and more spacious to me as a result of the leaner signature.
Both are excellent sets imo, FatFreq is becoming one of my favorite brands if they keep pushing out these bass oriented sets.

Every time I buy an album on qobuz, I wish I had bought sublime. I would have saved so much money at this point. Still have not subscribed to them.I would definitely recommend to test out Qobuz. Not only because they offer the possibly best sound quality but because they simply deserve to be chosen as they are the (only) streaming service with an audiophile background and therefore are for music lovers.
Bandcamp is another must have imo as they are the buying platform and streaming service most directly connected to the musicians...
Nope! Checked with the wife, and there’s no conflict with any family plans. Looks like it’ll be a whirlwind CanJam year for me, planning to go to every US based edition, including Dallas and its inaugural event.Skipping CanJam Chicago?!![]()
Part of me was thinking this is a bit extreme even for us audio junkies, but last year I really appreciated the nuanced differences between the three shows I attended (NY, Chicago and SoCal), and suspect that wasn’t a one-off thing. Maybe I’ll burn out planning to go to four shows in one year, but who knows, maybe not. Currently excited about it.
Subscribed two years ago, had the same internal debate about whether I’d buy enough instead of “just stream”. Haven’t looked back; Sublime has been great.Every time I buy an album on qobuz, I wish I had bought sublime. I would have saved so much money at this point. Still have not subscribed to them.
It’s weird, but it kinda reminds me of the old days when Tuesdays were big for going to Best Buy to purchase Blu-Rays. Now, I tend to buy s few albums every Friday and it gives a touch of the same experience, and with the Sublime discount, new albums are usually less than $10. Gives a different spin on New Music Fridays when you buy vs. stream, at least for me. Funny how our brains sometimes work.

+1 on Bandcamp. Every artist I’ve heard talk about it says it’s the best way to support them monetarily. Not only do they got the largest percentage, but you can choose to pay/donate extra if you want to. We take it for granted, but it’s actually mind-boggling how a music album that requires $10,000’s of gear and 1000’s of hours of playing and developing your craft to make costs a mere $6-8 to purchase. Plus, once you purchase the record, you can choose to download it in whatever format you wish. They usually provide hi-res WAV and FLAC formats, and you can re-download those files as many times as you want.
100% agree, I’m a big Bandcamp supporter… over 1600 releases in my collection! While I’ve started to enjoy Tidal recently, I still love my Friday night Bandcamp shopping ritual - as noted before, the closest experience to actually being in a music store flicking through CDs and vinyl.

Can confirm, the above photos are from La Banquise!OMG, I haven't had poutine/been to Montreal in a while! I always hit up La Banquise when I can.

Well in that case you better do so and subscribe quicklyEvery time I buy an album on qobuz, I wish I had bought sublime. I would have saved so much money at this point. Still have not subscribed to them.

I usually try to avoid to preach but seem to fail when it comes down to Qobuz. It simply doesn't want to get into my head how anybody seriously interested into music (and more than one special genre but various kinds of music) could subscribe to Tidal instead of Qobuz (if both are an available option).... Night and day in attitude to me, like fast food vs. a real meal.
Sorry, but I just don't like Tidal's commercial only background and stick to the service that was audiophile orientated from day 1 and years before Tidal even existed...
And concerning the catalogs - I had no problems with both. Sure you might not find the obscurest of the obscure sometimes, but each service is better or worse in certain genres (Qobuz is better for classical imo, Tidal might have an edge in Hip-Hop/R&B).
Qobuz combined with Bandcamp and - lucky me - my own collection is all I ever needed. I definitely never missed anything that really matters to me...

I guess it depends what you are after. I’m not really sure I understand the context of Tidal’s “commercial only background” vs Qobuz’ being “audiophile oriented”. I probably don’t care either if I’m being honest.
Maybe I’m just a not-quite-audiophile with heathen taste in music

Yep, purchase discounts are very good on QoBuz sublime and as I use HQ player on my PC which natively integrates QoBuz streaming, it is super easy to audition an album I'm interested in in high quality, than purchase it at a discount. if I want it in my permanent collection, I am very happy with QoBuz in this use case scenario, worth every penny.This. Qobuz is a means to an end. I can buy albums off there, then download directly to my Sony without ever having to connect to my computer. But that's all it is. I never use the app, or the service--all it serves as is a means for me to obtain albums legally in a way that's slightly more convenient than ripping a disk.
I changed it up to reflect what my wife says to me!Following this. I imagine the rs2 is a step down in sound quality from my sony nw-wm1am2, but the thought of a tiny screen, at least to me, is a plus, not a minus. I'm not watching movies on the thing, and smaller makes it infinitely more pocketable, the sort of thing you can toss in a jeans pocket and bring to bed easily. Dual card slots have been on my wishlist for the longest time, although my wife has proposed the fair point that I already have more music than I can listen to in onesittinglifetime.
u12t with the bassiest module? I'm going to keep trying...because I have nothing else to do haha.No.
