Based on this feedback post (https://www.head-fi.org/threads/iba...-firmware-2-02-available.958400/post-17018344) about the EXN 'upgrade', I'm quite happy to leave my 3Max as the maker intended That forgiving 'midrange analogue haze' is one of the things I like most about 3Max compared to some of the other high-end 'hi-fi' sources I've heard. Personal preference of course, so YMMV.It means he's sending out the DX300 MAX to NP Audio for being modded/upgraded.

It's 22.43 here in Ireland, and now listening to Mazzy Star - probably more a 1am type song, but that's the direction my night has gone
Such an absolutely beautiful song, wonderful simplicity.
Edit - I note this is my 6000th post, glad it's a song that's special to me!

Silicone tips/shells allow the CIEM to fit more comfortably in the ears. When it comes to changing the shape of the auricles, as a rule, the owner sells them sooner than it seems. Is that to get a better fit, less need to reshell as the years pass / ears change?

Mystique looks bassierhaven't tried it yet, but I loved the sound of my FoKus pro. if it follows the same path with new bluetooth chip. win-win.

The Oriolus iem's I own come with wide bore silicone tips but after experimenting I prefer narrow bore silicone, especially with my Szalayi. Do folk with the Traillii tend to use open wide tips or narrow ones?

I haven’t had a chance to listen yet but getting hyped.

If it still have the app with EQ functionality, that can be manageable. Pro was quite responsive to the EQs in the App.Mystique looks bassier

I passed them off to @DanielListening this afternoon. I didn’t keep them around for long as during the week I don’t get much time for listening, just too tired from work and kids/dogs/suppers etc….
Super comfortable. Excellent balanced sound with lots of detail but excellent timbre, especially strings. The treble was the only thing that wasn’t perfect for me in that transient attacks were a bit slow but maybe that last little bit could be altered to my liking with an Eletech Plato cable. Either way, I was expecting the Traillii at 1/3 the cost and these come very very close.
@DanielListening and I had a chat about how the brain adapts and frankly after about 5 minutes the music all sounded great. It was only in the initial moments of listening that the treble was even noticeable. I never did try to hear how cymbals or rimshots sounded but that’s not in my library much.
I could really see owning these in the future as they seem to sound excellent with anything I tried.

interesting comments. Considering they were both made with stock EQ, I would say Mystique is too much bass to my "basshead" taste.Pro was just the right balance. Incredibly well tuned for a TWS, it felt like it was squeezed everything possible out of Bluetooth codecs and SOC.
All in all, this is the most important comment of the full review for me and the reason I sold my Pro. It killed the experience for me.
"I experienced more dropouts using the Pro than I did the Mystique, although the Mystique was still capable of a few instances of recalibration."

Re Azla Max:
I agree, most comfortable tip I've tried, but I find it cuts treble extension by a bit, noticeably for brighter IEMs.
It also thickens the sound so on anything it gives a "warmer, more comfortable" sound, but I think I'd prefer less alterations by using the original Azla Sedna Lights.

Penon Impact Initial Thoughts:
- Wow this is comfortable. This is among the best fitting IEMs I have ever had in my ears.
- I really like the aesthetics of the cable.
- So much micro-detail and spatial cues being provided by this IEM. The staging is fantastic. It sounds like a concert hall.
- So much clarity in the vocals. Female is better than male but the male vocals are no slouch.
- Great texture in the mid-bass and sub-bass.
- Comfortable. No internal ear pressure issues. No discomfort at all. No issues with fit or the IEM slipping out of my ear.
- A very balanced, musical, effortless, detailed sound. This is among the best IEMs I have heard for my tastes and my library (Folk, Singer Songwriter, Jazz, Rock, etc.)
- I really don't like the sound of the stock cable. I replaced the stock cable with an Eletech Prudence cable and it instantly made this IEM better for me. More resolving in the highs and just better all around. I wish I had an even better cable to try out. I think this IEM will scale with cables well.
