Roaming around as a tourist in Seattle. It's the first time I've been back since the pandemic. Similar to my Alaskan trip, crossing the border was hassle free 🤞

Of course the first place I had to hit up was Pike Place for Clam Chowder 🔥. I also noticed that they have indoor locations now. Not sure if this is recent.

I forgot how many hills there were in DT Seattle. Its like San Francisco squared. Since my daughter isn't a big fan of strollers, I got my cardio in for the week 😂

I've been using my Shanling UP5 a lot more since the heat picked up. Because its a bluetooth receiver, it improves walkability since I can attach it my crossbody bag. Another bonus is that it can take conference calls.

Some highlights:

The Woodland park Zoo was a lot fun. It felt like an amusement park with live classical music playing in the backround, Churros and Carousel.

It had a nice selection of animals and I appreciated how the architechs engineered the viewing rooms to maximize visibility (while keeping it safe)

Welcome to the collector/hoarder branch if the Watercooler. I thought you might be when you unlisted your second IEM from classifieds.

Yeah I'm just going to accept it, and maybe buy something totally unplanned to rubber stamp it :)

interesting, I thought they did everything in HK, didn't know about the China part. I'm actually very tempted to fly to Hongkong direct since I'm only a few hours away
TBH I don't know for sure that it's in China. But I shipped it to HK, and then they sent it "somewhere else" that required a COVID decontamination of 3 weeks.
If I could have gone there and done it in person I would have. But no-one in Aroma speaks a word of English :)
I'll second Tokpa, build quality is superb IMO. The finishing on the shells is outstanding. But for transparency...I also sent mine back for a reshell as one 2 pin was considerably looser than the other for cable retention which resulted in the shell coming off the cable a few times. I'm assuming the barrels are outsourced so no particular quality issue directly related to Aroma.
Interestingly, the 2 pin sockets on my new Jewel are crazy tight. It took me literally 5 minutes to work the Orpheus on there, one tiny bit at a time. Pushing SLOWLY :) I'm actually pleased, as I am never sure about non recessed sockets and wondering if my CIEMs will fall to the ground.

I'm on my final day of a short break and given that it's raining out, I thought I'd spend time with Z1R before putting on classifieds... the spending time bit was clearly a serious schoolboy error, and I should know better by now! Z1R lives to fight another day, maybe I should just admit defeat and accept that I'm a collector and hoarder...

That is the new Shanling M9 right. I am literally amazed at how far Shanling has come with their DAPs now. I have previously used their M6, but my current M7 is miles ahead of them. Was really interested for the M9 but this is super out of budget.

I got a chance to audition the Kublai khan at a recent event in my country. I actually listened to the top 2 from Noble's lineup, the Kublai Khan and the Sultan. While both of them are excellent at what they offer, Sultan came out to be more to my liking, the only issue with Kublai for me was its upper mids being a little extra forward than what I prefer. But an excellent set nonetheless.
Try the Kublai with RU6. I found the synergy to be better compared to SP2KT.

Actually the person in-charge of their Facebook page seems to be quite ok with English. Worst case scenario I can try speaking my broken Cantonese lol

With all the scenery & food photos posted here recently, it’s finally my turn to post some foodies 😬
After more than 2 years of never really going out for good food, the missus brought me out for dinner 😋

Really loving the EA Cadmus. Not only is it beautiful and ergonomic (sorry for bad photo), but it is perfect for taming some of the Volt's warmth, and providing some additional refinement and clarity.

Very nice. That reminds of of Alan Wong's in Honolulu (which unfortunately went out of business due to the Covid lockdown) which had 5 and 7 course meals with wine pairings. Happy Birthday, David!
