Any album to recommend?

An album I've had on repeat the last couple of days is the following, recommended by @gLer in the IE900 thread, absolutely stunning... thanks gLer. I'm probably going to go old school and buy this on vinyl.

'The Raga Guide' compilation by Joep Bor on Nimbus records is a good quality recording that covers a variety of ragas. Find a comfortable chair outside in nice weather and enjoy, they will probably carry you away! Isabellae is the perfect companion for them.

Also Arooj Aftab is incredible, so is that whole album. Vocals are supreme on Isa.

NB: The Raga Guide is a compilation of various artists but there is lots of Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia on there.

Brilliant, thank you - I'll seek that out before my holiday next week!

Yes that album by Aroof Aftab is stunning, I've since bought her previous album from 2018 on Bandcamp, an ambient offering that I can't wait to listen to later this evening.

The best description I've come across is this one from Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda:

Do you not have the Q4 anymore? (Looking at your sig...what's the Iris Ancestor?)

Nice :) Been a while since I heard that one.

I'll have to the check that out...thanks for the rec :)

A stone cold classic!
Thanks for the text description. That's mathematical and musical at the same time

Iris Ancestor are earbuds from FAAEAL. They're rather inexpensive, and I use them for work mostly. You can find one at AliExpress

Yep, just sold the Q4 today to save up for the U6t

U6T looks an interesting investment nowadays .

The RS10 have took over the position for reference signature in my collection. So now to add a bass specialist :)

Would you not describe the u6t as a reference signature? What are you thinking for bass? Turii? :)

For reference it was Q4 → RS10 (now)

I quite enjoy the bass on the U6t, both the quality and quantity. It's not too overwhelming in amount. The reach and size are also satisfying. Mids and treble are also nice, and they're easy to drive with high resolution and deep wide stage even on my phone. They work well tonally as a whole in my opinion. U6t isn't a reference type, it's got a warmer tone, and some coloration in the mids. But I quite like them for vocals (especially male), and bassy tracks

I haven't try the Turii, but based on impressions and graphs, they look like Isa with bigger bass, fuller lower-mids, and larger stage :) That's intriguing as well

This is fantastic, thanks!

Here is the second part of the quote if you're interested (I couldn't fit it all in one screenshot earlier):

You know what could be better than a single DD in acrylic shell, I think it'd be a single DD in a 3D printed flesh and bone texture mimicking acoustic chamber which may more closely recreate an organism voice tone. The DD already resembles the vocal chord somewhat, just need to wrap that sound in that wetter more natural delivery pathway

Sounds absolutely horrific that does...

I'd buy it though if it meant better vocal reproduction!

Nice to see someone liking classical music from my country :) Indian classical scene is so complex, I know my mom's side has some performers, but we are from Bengal, so it's mostly Rabindro Sangeet (Songs by Ranbindranath Tagore). I never listened to Indian classical as a kid, but now since I live outside India, I have come to appreciate it and listen to it more often. Just one of those things that ties you to home!
