It is indeed an amazing amp, but I'm holding out for the portable version.

I truly believe that @L0rdGwyn started the walkman comeback movement single handed. Respect!

That actually looks like it has a USB, but it's probably for charging. If it's a data feed, maybe the Woo Tube Mini would add the tube sound people were asking for a couple of posts back....

Tube Mini is fantastic for such a small AIO unit. Drives full sized ZMFs surprisingly well.

Indeed I would like a matching one for my Airmid! Well when I beat this cancer and take care of the medical, I will indulge in the meantime. But I am beyond thrilled with this red beauty, All tungsol and national union of her! A beautiful wonderous delightful amplifier from the the genius of LOrdGwyn! It is a bit prettier with the GEC L63's but my latest set of Natti's sounds even better!

I dunno where else to post this....

I found out yesterday that James Whiting AKA jgwtriode lost his battle with cancer back on September 9th.

James had a rare enthusiasm for this hobby and always kept his posts upbeat. He messaged me often, sharing his latest vintage audio score with me. I asked him once why he needed so many pairs of vintage speakers, he replied "so I have something to leave for my grandkids".

James loved to tweak his system with various mods and esoteric gizmos, and always reported back how his system's latest iteration was the best yet.

On my Youtube channel, James was one of my biggest supporters and earliest subscribers and was lucky enough to own one of the six Airmid amps in existence.

I never met James in person, but I considered him to be a friend.

RIP James

What sad news, and clearly a terrible loss to our Head-Fi community (as well as James’ family and loved ones first and foremost). I enjoyed reading James’ posts and appreciated his wisdom.

Thank you for sharing, including the heartwarming photo of James and his younger family member. ❤️

Thanks for sharing Darren. Such a loss to our community. James was a wonderful contributor and enthusiast. He will be deeply missed. If you (or anyone) has any contact with his family, perhaps send them our entire community's heartfelt condolences as well as appreciation of his journey with us. When one passes away, knowing he was appreciated and will be remembered is such a powerful solace to those left behind.

RIP James

it's time to put googly eyes on all your amps; make them come alive
I'm catching up, and that was my immediate response too. Have a bag of mixed sizes sitting in my Amazon shopping cart "as we speak."

I did not know ... until now ... that they are available as glow-in-the-dark.

So imagine you're sitting there in the evenings, in your favorite listening chair, lit by the glow of your tubey masterpieces ... and 11 pairs of eyes are watching you from the dark corners.

It will be grand. :L3000:
