Yep, one of the reasons I was after that. Plus came with all (!!) the EMM-, EMC-1, ECC-1 cards for the two slots! Quite powerful it is indeed!

Looks like there is one more card needed to rule them all. I had now idea there was a 4th.

EDIT: looks pretty inconsequential as it appears only to be a board to add an extra input.

Looks a bit cheap, but it's the entry-level model. SR-X1 name is still tentative.
"Today's favorite, STAX's new entry series SRS-X1000
The headphone (SR-X1) is lightweight and it feels well made. I could definitely feel the delicate and extended sound that I expect from STAX.
If you're an audio lover, and you've always dreamed of listening to STAX at least once in your life, it might be a good idea to try these..."

Compared to an SR-X Mk3:

"SR-X1 alone is expected to cost 50,000 to 70,000 yen.
A set of SRS-1000 and SR-X1 is expected to cost 100,000 to 120,000 yen.

I asked about the release date: *It is still undecided, but the release date is likely to be between March and May.
This is also not final, but the first thing I think about the SR-X1 is that it is light, and the assembly is made of metal, making it easy to handle.
This is a really nice. As for the sound, the sound is completely different from the L300 that I own, and it gives me the impression that it's a new series.
The claim that it is flat and neutral is true, and it produces beautiful and delicate sounds in all bands.
Even when listening to jazz or big band, you can hear the clear vocals typical of STAX even when listening to solid low and mid-range vocals.
The stage feels more spacious than the L300, and the sound is natural and easy to listen to, making it ideal for long listening sessions. want.
I'll definitely buy it."

Other first impressions seem similarly positive.

Very interested in these, surprising to see a price point around the L300. Wonder if it's a replacement, or an attempt to make twin X series for the Omega style, and L series continues with Lambda? Is there a X5 or similar also planned?
The headband itself looks very retro, kinda cool in a nostalgic way.

Well the price is nice, and I hope they sound great.

Oh forgot, I have that card, too!

Very cool, I'm in :)

So it's sound stage is more 'Lambda' like wide, rather than narrower like the original SRX? Hows the low end extension?
They say the sound is 'lighter' than bigger models, but it is hard to judge from an entry-level amp. I am sure it would be fine with increased power.

Exactly. Estats, even entry models have huge potential. The L300, despite being too bright for me, is a great headphone that sounds incredible on my system. I’ve always liked how the Stax line up is not entirely a product of watering down a main product. I hope the sr-x1 has a distinctive sound.

Also glad to see continued investment in entry level and/or affordable models. Every release skewing towards TOTL just artificially inflates prices further and reduces access to more people.
