Thanks for insisting on this. I bought 009 and they are better than L700 (especially in soundstage). I like both but will keep the 009.

Carbon + SR009 = ultimate combo indeed !  I am happy for you :)

could you just tell us why you bought the Carbon instead of BHSE or another TOL stat amp ?   delivery delay ? price ? sound ? ....

none of these :) frankly, my limited knowledge of Stax universe.... And I wanted the best solid state amp for my L700... But I am absolutely happy with the Carbon + 009 combo :)

seaice 009 are better than L700? oh well I just ordered L700. will arrive my home tomorrow morning.

Both are great but 009 are really better. And with the Carbon, differences are not small - especially the soundstage of 009 is so much better. But I have not heard any other Stax amps...

you are welcome.
nop I can't... since my english ability is very bad.I can't describe the difference well.
I can do comparison in japanese but in english...Im sorry...I hope someone will do it.
i guess it is little bit difficult since amps and DACs affect the results.

Thank You for respond... my English is not good too, and yes it's limiting possibilities here....

With my Stax SR-L700, I have moved from Leben CS-600>SRD-7/mk2 to KGSSHV Carbon and I am very happy with the combination: More details (but a bit less smooth), better space, more balanced sound in all frequency bands... very musical and clean sound for hours of enjoyable listening. I have never heard any other Staxes so I can not comment on the "absolute" position of the SR-L700 in the Stax house. But I totally love SR-L700 sound and would like to hear a 007 or 009 one day :)

How is the sound of the L700 on the Carbon?

  OK thanks...
Is it possible for You to make a short comparison STAX L700 versus Sennheiser HD600, HD650 and HD800?... There seems to be some interest for real life comparison of those in HD800S thread.

Short comparisons =>
vs HD600: L700 is better

HD650: L700 is better

HD800: L700 is better, except for soundstage

How is the sound of the L700 on the Carbon?

Very nice and recommended combination. Very clean, detailed and engaging sound. The only small shadow is the soundstage that is still not so great as the soundstage of 009 (with Carbon as well) or HD800. I would recommend to everyone: If you have funds for 009 and good amp, go for 009. I will probably sell my L700 because I like 009 better and I do not need two electrostats at home. L700 are great headphones I could live with but I bought 009 recently and found them better for me.

Sorry, I cant post more details.... got some tough flu and will be out of my headphone world for some time...
