Yes. I followed the instructions from a site. Just move the file to the root of the internal storage, turn off wifi, make sure date and time are correct and did the update. Everytime it fails at 50%. Tried all ways more than a dozen times. Factory reset also at least 5 times. Nothing worked. Can’t be that difficult just to update a firmware right?

Sounds like you did everything right. Sorry it didn't work out for you. Must be broken, I guess. I suppose you could try different regions and/or older versions but that's probably a long shot...

I've had the same problem with a Sony Bluray player outside of warranty. Sometimes these issues are beyond us. Return it, the bluray ended up in the trash.

Yes, it was returned the day after i got it. Wasted so much precious time trying to figure it out. What a disappointment.

It doesn't seem to be on sale at the moment, but when it was it was widely available at $248, including Sony Direct, Amazon, etc... No idea if it will happen again.

New WM1 coming from Sony but nothing on updated A105 or A55

It has been reported that images of a new WM1 have surfaced, it will be android based and uses a USB-C connection, and a 4" HD screen. At this point not much else is known, but disappointing that Sony won't be updating the A105 or releasing a newer A55 variant at least based on current information.

Here is the international region firmware. Just copy to the root of internal storage and go to firmware update in settings.

This is International firmware (Series 0000) and should not contain Mora or Mora Qualitas. The link is direct from Sony. The Japanese firmware is Series 0001.

Yep pretty much what I heard from a buddy who sells audio gear. Got some early release info from a Sony rep they deal with. Not that it matters, way more than I would ever spend on a battery powered DAP.

I think the laws of diminishing returns apply more to DAPs than any other type of audio gear. Then again , maybe my ears are getting too old to tell the difference.
