The Sony 40th Anniversary Walkman Thread

Does anyone have difficulty using a 1 TB microSD card in this player? I hear it can lag a bit. If so, is this relatively mild lag or is it really bad?
its so bad, very laggy, since its release I've been contacting Sony to fix this browsing issue using the Walkman app because I have over 80,000 songs in my 1TB microSD but they are not fixing it, I've contacted them through every avenue online and its as if I'm the only one with this issue, when I put this microSD in the NW-A55 it browses smoothly, why can't the A105 handle when its a newer model?

Anyone have an original oem Sony armband nicely compatible with this walkman? I was looking for a CKA-NWU50 but they are hard to find. I bought a new one cheap on eBay but then the seller discovered he was already out of stock.

I think the laws of diminishing returns apply more to DAPs than any other type of audio gear. Then again , maybe my ears are getting too old to tell the difference.

I have been preaching about diminishing returns on more and more expensive DAP's for years. As for aging ears I can relate being in my 50's now. If it has a battery it isn't worth spending a ton of money on it. I opt for the best home audio gear I can afford vs going portable given the longevity of home gear over portable gear. I would take the money a WM1 will cost and get a really good desktop setup and stick with my $300 DAP's for listening on the go. I stream LDAC bluetooth from my Shanling Q1 to my Sony home receiver all the time and it sounds better to my ears than a much more expensive DAP like the WM1.

I’d say about 15k between all the apps. Mostly dsd in the Walkman app.
Another thought: mine lags terribly if my internal storage falls beneath 2gb. Be sure your internal storage is as clear as can be
actually if I put 20,000 songs it stays smooth, once it exceeds this number then it gets very slow, I have over 80,000 songs, browsing is fine with other apps but not with the Walkman app, thanks for the reply.

What kind of card do you have in terms of read and write speeds?

Sounds like a cache issue. Try rebuilding rather than updating your library. Go through the android settings and empty as much cache and storage as you can. Does this resolve?

what is the best android app to play all types of audio files on the NW-A100 please?

I believe most would say USB Audio Player Pro (UAPP). It's what I use in addition to the built-in Walkman player.
