I have V2 and for me they have better bass response and more neutral sound than SHP9500.
 
I have a willingness to buy MH463 and compare them to V2.

Soundstage is wide, maybe not so 3D but is very good. I think these are one of the best headphones in 50-100$ budget.
 
I have bought older MH463 version with 50mm driver. I think it will take about 2-3 weeks to get them and compare with V2. I think they are pretty close to DT990Pro. I want to get DT990Pro soon, so I will compare them all

MH463 - more bass (quite boomy), recessed mid, better sounding with pleather earpads
V2 - balanced sound (better), more details, better sounding with velor earpads (especially HM5)
 
For me MH463 are quite bassy headphones and I don't think they are better than V2. Maybe some burn-in or recabling will make a difference but at the time V2 are better all the way.

From my vague collection of the MH463 in stock form I believe your description is how I would hear them too.

I put the Kingston HyperX Cloud velour pad on my MH463 and they sounded significantly less boomy, however the highs were very harsh.

All velour eapads that I have (HM5, Hyperx Cloud, SOMiC V2) are making MH463 unlistenable harsch at highs.
 
SOMiC V2 are brilliant and almost or maybe even as good as DT990Pro.

Could you make a comparison between MH463 and V2 soundstage? Which one do you think would be better for gaming? And for films? You also own Kingston HyperX Cloud, is this one better?

In my opinion V2 are better, MH463 have more artificial sound, too much bass and simply I don't like them
 
I had HyperX Cloud (few times) and I like them but I will choose V2. They are simply better.
 
Soundstage in V2 and MH463 are quite the same.
