The Qudelix-5K thread

I have had the device for about a month and a half and there have been 6 firmware updates already!

There was a fair period between updates while they were working on 2.0, you just happened to get involved as a big update then follow-up bug fixes were released, FYI :)

Qudelix are fantastic for support, but the last month or so has been particularly full bore with the updates...

I hope FiiO learns something from Qudelix...
Like having a master software+hardware engineer running the company? Probably not something that can be duplicated easily by anyone.

How can I delete or reset a custom EQ profile?
I've created a custom EQ and saved it. Now I want to delete it or reset it.
How do I do that?

To reset: Pick the EQ you want to reset. Touch upper half of screen to expose EQ sliders, and make your changes. Hold your finger on the upper part to return to EQ listings (i.e. "Flat". Choose the same EQ you want to reset, and a window will pop up. Just press OK and it overrides the original settings.

Its been a while since I have done this and am responding by memory, but I think this is how I did it. Others can chime in to correct me if/where needed.

Thanks for your reply but this does not reset the EQ to flat. I have created, named and saved a Custom EQ. Now, I want to delete it. I want to reset it to flat and set the name back to Custom #2, the way it was before. How can I do that?

Oops - your right. Don't know that it can be done. You could try manually leveling all sliders in your custom EQ and override(rename) it to Custom #2. I know that when I play around further with a custom EQ I have made previously, It lets me override the previous settings, under the same Custom EQ name. Best I got. Good luck.

No worries, thanks.

So, can anyone tell me how can I delete or reset a Custom EQ profile? I cannot believe that I have to type all of the default values back in, to make it a flat line again.

Anyone, please?

Select “flat”, long press the profile you want to delete and save it with no name.

It took me a little while to figure this out too, but this does it.

I asked the King:

'Why aren't you, guys, creating something like the FiiO UTWS5?'

The King replied:

'It's all about the battery. Battery life, time, size, and weight...'

Does anyone know what the King means?

The response:

The battery life, not the time, would be the primary concern and challenge for Bluetooth mobile applications. The battery life would be 1~2 years, assumed with daily use.
For TWS applications, as the battery ages, the product becomes useless even if the HW still works well. Even worse, we can't replace the battery.
We need to make a product cheaper to make users accept 1~2 years of the limited lifetime.
If we figure out how to make a TWS application at a reasonable price, even assuming with a limited lifetime, we will make it.

They've replied, FYI. The tiny batteries required for something like that won't last more than a year or two with daily use. The form factor likely necessitates designing for non-replacable batteries.

Sell all your puny glorified ear plugs and pointless amps, keep an eye out for a bargain on 2nd hand Arya's, and enjoy them with a touch of EQ to taste on the 5k. :o2smile:
