I have that one in mmcx (I have 2pin adapters if a test is needed) and also the Mix (in a 2pin version). The truth is that I have bad luck with the Xinhs. I bought this one hoping to upgrade the stock cable on my CA Solaris OG, and it was a downgrade. It stayed in a drawer and I have not tried it again with other IEMs. I should give it another chance since Solaris was very capricious with cables and I had a hard time finding one to my liking (the G4 by the way...) I have two Xhins Graphene 8 core (mmcx and 2pin) and it was a similar experience. The only IEM that has done better with it, than the stock cable, was the Timeless, when I had it. Now they are also in the same drawer.

For me, a safe bet for the Serial continues to be the G4 more than the Mix for my tastes. But I didn't want to lose the percussion textures of the Serial, and I focused on that in my preferences with the cable. Someone who wants to improve the treble may prefer the mix. The mix pairs very well with the Fan 2 as well.

Thanks for share your experience!
Did you prefer G4 because didn’t reduce bass quantity?

Not just quantity but quality. One of the things I liked from the beginning of the Serial is the percussive textures, even with the stock cable. The g4 keeps them and even makes them more detailed. Separation and clarity between instruments is gained. With the Mix it seemed to me that it made the percussive notes thinner.

I found it to be flat in the treble and mids, with fluid bass. Strangely hard to find synergy with most IRMs. Currently on my SR5 where it pairs nicely.

I’m using the ISN S2 on my Serial, as recommended in this thread. Of course I bought several other cables to use with it and was dissatisfied with all of them before getting the S2.

Funny you mention this, but I couldn't possibly bring my Serial anywhere even if I wanted to. The connectors are so loose now that the shells fall off the cables with almost no provocation and they may as well be TWS.

If you have a cable that you are happy to dedicate to the Serial you can effectively tighten the pin fit by squeezing the pins firmly in a pair of nice smooth faced pliers.

With a firm squeeze you can make the pins slightly out of round which will widen them in one direction tightening the fit in the loose holes in the IEM.

Go gently and give them a light squeeze to start and increase the pressure as needed to get the right fit.

I have done this with a couple of cables and it works well.

So G4 and S2 for Serial 🤭

I have also experimented a bit with cables for Serial and ended up with ISN S16. There is definitely a sound upgrade over the stock cable.
Mainly the highs are more present now and there is also a slight upgrade to the bass and lower mids notes.
Not sure if I look any further since I also use EQ. Might try the G4 later on.
As described in my previous post Serial becomes more lively with each session as the burning process is still not completed.

Serial is excellent sounding iem for pretty much everything I throw at them.
Comfort is also excellent and their sound is very addictive.
They will always have a special place in my collection, well worth buying it.

In my case: classic foam tips + S16 cable + medium gain + a bit of EQ = phenomenal sound!

Gosh, now that you mention that problem again. I wonder if it has been resolved for newer batches?

I’m still over here with the 10th and continue to be blown away. I seriously think it might be my third favorite set I’ve ever owned.

I literally can’t find a fault.
On this note, anyone interested in buying my set? I cant list in classifieds yet cause i havent made enough posts. I dont really have anything to post about though.

I love them. Just spent too much and my other sets are satisfying enough. Maybe im not keen enough to really be able to tell that much of a difference, but my truthear hexa sounds about as good to me
I imagine, well priced, they'll be gone in 10 seconds!
