My turn

The 10th is Flagship Totl Material!
From the get go impressions
Forecast was spot on. Mids quality is closer to the Volt, engaging, including the scale of imaging - on large side a la full size Headphones, the premium kind.
The Bass amplitude is compelling indeed! Big Sub-bass, man!!! No Bleed, Rhythmic, tuneful - Basshead class
The detailed Treble has plenty air, not difficult to hear - this'll take time than usual to open up more, ests' thing.
Technically efficient, with the Fun factor.
Folks will enjoy that bass, in perfect sync with the percussions, extremely fluid.
I can't take out the 10th out of my ears, LOL.
Later guys, more to come...

Happy weekend everyone...

Yes! My has arrived. Not home due to work. Cant wait to get home and get my hands on it!

Azla Sendafits on the 10th. Plus something new and fresh for you all. This cable is new to you and to me. I actually got this cable to introduce to the community before I left on a 10 day vacation trip. Cable is simply called BASS! So what do you suppose this cable enhances? Take a wild guess.

But it's not just about the bass end of the IEMs these enhance. It's quite brilliant how this cable brings out the low end of IEMs. It is like the opposite of the vocal cables in that it seems to bring more of a V shaped sound for the 10th here. Slightly lessens the mids presentation but enhances the bass end in the process. If you thought you needed a bit more emphasis down low for any of your IEMs, yes these do exactly what they are called. Bass is basically boosted from mid bass to sub bass rumble. It highlights the area as it brings a slightly more laid back mids presence vs the stock CS819 cable. Also, this has an added effect of widening the stage from the stock CS819 cable. The resolve of these cables is simply greater than that of the CS819 in that it brings a more technical sound to the 10th which was also a surprise. Sound gets a detail boost with better sound separation due to the treble staying intact. Sound tuning through cable material at its finest.

Brilliant on the 10th and unlike how lesser pure copper cables can overly smooth out the detail aspects of a sound at times. There is none of that going on with the BASS cables. The material from what I know so far is a mix of copper silver alloy with a oxygen free copper shielding. Look for it on the Penon pages soon.

Don't know if it was planned this way but. Looking at the color scheme. These could have been developed in conjunction with the 10th me thinks. Not 100% certain but the cable is red and blue.

Nice, looks perfect for the 10th AE. I need to acquire one. 😁

Would you say this synergizes better than the ISN G4?

Its different. The G4 seems to be a better CS819 in what it does. This cable definitely brings a more V shaped tuning on the 10th. I think these will be a great option for bass fans that want the best low end on the 10th. I will have to do a closer comparison soon when I get a chance to sit down with both cables.

I have been away from headfi and posting but have to catch up with my review cue. I will post more about the Bass cable and how it pairs with some of the other Penon and ISN IEMs soon.

Hi dear friends,
I wanted to ask you about the comparison between Serial and 10th of enjoyment of music, I saw that Serial can be more old school analogue and dark which I like. Is the 10th also sounds like the Serial in this way?
Also can you compare the both iem in fit to ears- sealing, and comfort and size?

No - mine was one of the last few blue ones, which was why I knew it was now or never if I wanted a blue Totem with pigtails instead of the modular system.

That Blue Version is

Kind of just looks like the standard white tips that Penon sometimes includes, but obviously I could be wrong.

I had much the same thought, only that this time I tried comparing them with tips that I know for a fact came from Penon (because they were never taken out of the 10th anni box).

IMG_6419.jpeg

Clear Penon tip on the left, mystery Volt tip on the right. As you can see they are quite different from the core to the bore width.

Of course this doesn’t preclude the possibility that Penon did have white core tips which they sent at some point in the past… only that I’ve never been able to find other white tips from Penon to corroborate this.

Indeed, the mystery tip has much more in common with the green core Penon tip visually:

IMG_6420.jpeg

The silicone material of the mystery tip feels and measures slightly thinner though - 0.3mm compared to 0.4mm on the green tip.

So if anyone has white core tips from Penon (or anywhere else) that match this description I would very much like to hear from them to settle this once and for all. At least they won’t have this problem with the orange tips :)

How thick is the nozzle diameter of Penon 10th?

Albeit it looks off on the shot, the Nozzle is actually no more than 6mm diameter

6mm_d.JPG

Since I had the callipers out, I measured this as well and can confirm the diameter of the nozzle is 6mm. The nozzle lip at its widest point is 6.8mm.

Unrelated point, I love the look and feel of all-resin nozzles (compared to the metal ones).

Serial Sedna Normal, the grey stem. Later the E-PRO

Hi dear friends,

Yes, true. The Serial is more analogue sounding than the 10th. But the 10th is also analogue sounding. Like an upgraded more premium cartridge, Ortofon Orange or equivalent on VPI tt, really stable platter...
Is the 10th also sounds like the Serial in this way?
Nope, the 10th is higher end, Closer to the Volt, with more Bass and treble amplitude compared to the Volt.
It has more than 60 % qualities of the Volt
The Volt is 100% timbre correct akin to a usd3,000* full size headphone, including a large scale* of imaging.
By scale of imaging
Volt = XL
the 10th = L
Serial = ML

* with the Totem
Also can you compare the both iem in fit to ears- sealing, and comfort and size?
Comfort for me is
For the size, please refer to below

Exactly what I thought when listening to live recordings with the Volt + Totem on the DTR1+. You don’t forget that kind of sound.

Serial is the smoother and more coherent listen. 10th has more of a lift in both the treble and sub bass regions with more detail and energy.

TO unhear, that's difficult indeed. @Penon has always been Fair game and Fair play. I've known this since my 1st purchase back in 2016, a CS series cable.

Serial is fantastic. Easy to Holograph, large scene, Analogue Forever! Same goes for the (Musician's) Monitor style Globe, another amazing set.
Whilst the 10th simply put, is On another playing Field...

Sorry, I still don’t know

I recall someone - it may have even been you - asked me this as well last time I posted a Volt pic, and I had no idea. They’re still on the Volt so they obviously work but maybe I should just remove them for the next pic!
It's one of many Tips included w/ the Volt. Mine I'm using with the Globe, reduces bass and treble

Studio level clarity with a heavy dose of Fun as offered by the 10th. Open and boundless...

The feeling of wearing a pair, comfortable and snug for me. The sound output - Desktop like on the go, amazing shoulder wide sound field, without the can's clamping force between my skull...

Side note: The Colours are quite alright for me

Ooo. How it sound with the Totem I bet it sounds fantastic with Totem cable.

True story. I got a garden hose version of the Totem and in mmcx so I get to use 2 pin adaptors which makes my early Totem even more garden hose like. Will have to break down and just get a new black set eventually.

After more than 80 hours of burning, with cs819 cable and tips JVC spiral dots, treble became more detailled.
It's my first iem with EST and I must admit I like it.
