Ahhh!! Nice
- Penon made a Traillii clone. Penon did use 2 more BA in their setup (14) compared to the Traillii (12). Dethroning the “Bird” is a task and looks like Penon was up to the challenge.

Will get back to you on that. My 3Max was completely depleted for some reason. I have to charge it up a bit.Would love to know how they sound on the 3Max as I am hoping to be getting one soon.
Hopefully you will give some impressions of cable pairing with Storm, Totem and Flow.
I hope penon decides to do something like conx connectors in the future! I want a totem but wish it has interchangeable connectorsWill get back to you on that. My 3Max was completely depleted for some reason. I have to charge it up a bit.
My goodness. Totem on the Impact is on another planet. As good as they are on the Volt it does the exact same thing for the Impacts. Greater note weight. Sound expansion from top to bottom. Added richness and texture.
Storm cable gives greater texture increased height and depth of sound from the Totem but it's the Totem for half the price of the Storm cable that ultimately synergizes better with the Impact.
The little brother of the Storm and Totem is the ISN Solar which also works well with the Impact sound. It is like a lesser Storm more than a lesser Totem in how it sounds on the Impact.
Flow cable is excellent on the Impact but it does not add a richer tonal charater like the 3 cables mentioned.
So far I would put it like this.
Stage
Flow =Totem>Storm >Solar
Dimensional/ sound expansion
Storm>Totem>Solar>Flow
Technical/ Sound separation, detail, imaging
Totem> Storm=Flow>Solar
Atmosphere
Totem=Storm> Solar > Flow
Texture
Storm>Totem>Solar>Flow
Synergy
Totem>Storm>Solar>Flow
For half the price of the Storm cable the Totem is the way to go. While the Storm gives more in the way of texture and richness to the sounds. It is the Totem that has a great balance of stage enhancing, technical aspects and a texture enhancing ability only 2nd to the Storm. Impact + Totem = END OF THAT GAME!!! You can now go onto enjoy your other hobbies and be done with.
Going back to the stock white Obsidian. This cable matches amazing with the Impact. Just because I tried some of the higher end cables with the Impact does not mean the included cable is somehow not good enough. On the contrary.
The white Obsidian also adds a slight richer tonal character and enhances the Impacts naturalness which was the reason why it was chosen. Vocals on this cable is unreal. You guys will see what I mean when you get these. The other cables may enhance stage and some of the other aspects better as they should but really this cable was well thought out as an included cable.
Thinking of getting this cable and sending to effect audio to put conx connectors on it.Totem has been my favorite cable by Penon. Their newer black sleeved version is dope looking. Would match up well with the all white and clear Impact.

The Sony WM1Z and the Globes is epic! Actually one of the favorite all time combos. The Treble of the WM1Z somehow makes the Globes come alive, both spatially and sonically! I now have a Dunu DUW-03 cable on my ISN H50s, so that’s taking all my attention with the Sony WM1Z.Just got into Penon iems/cables a few months ago and love the Globes paired with the WM1Z. Just in time for the new year I plan on another Penon Splurge in 2023. Im interested in the Impact and wonder how easy is it to drive? Having never heard an est iem how will that impact my listening. Any comparisons to the Globe's glorius bass?
Did anyone make a comparison with Penon Impact and Elysian Annihilator ? for Bass , Mid , Treble , Detail, Soundstage and Imaging?
It's been an interesting couple days. I have recieved an IEM for a demo this weekend. After hearing most of the IEMs on my audition list, I sold a some of my gear recently to line up buys for Canjam. However, this is putting pause on those plans.
When I listen to this, I am re-united with an old friend. He is polite yet bold. He is meek yet dresses immaculately. He is that kid that you knew that toured with his ivy league jazz band yet found the time to party at electronic music festivals. He's that rare specimen that appreciates Baroque classical music but will throw down with you at a R&B club. It's that questionable friend that seems to do it all. My inner voice spoke: "Am I hearing the Oriolus Traillii?"... No wait the faceplate is white and it's 1/3 of the price. The faceplate design is also somehow more boring than Traillii itself.
Penon Impact:
I like nice stuff but hate spending money. Starting the hobby, I knew I would end up in the deep end anyway so I decided to skip the kiddie pool and jump in. Unfortunately, after a few mishaps, the first IEM I was truely mesmerized with was the Traillii. Instruments and vocal timbre just sounded right. The soundstage pushed beyond what a conventional IEM could do. The downside to this experience is that sometimes I got ear pressure. Hearing rumours about a Traillii V2 pushed me over to sell it. Continuing my journey, I discovered some IEMs that bested some of its technicalities. The Ragnar charmed me with its crystal clear resolution. On the musical end, the XE6 with its DD kinetic bass. However, when detail / treble oriented sets usually became a specialist for classical. The Turii Ti was a close buy. I was a fan of how it did instruments but bass heavy genres like EDM and rock would leave me wanting more. There hasn't been anything since then that striked the right balance of technicalities and musicality. Luckily, after the success of the Traillii, this clone was created. So far 15 hours in, I am not getting ear pressure.
Technicalities:
The transients between notes are sharp. This carves out the space between instruments. Each note is clearly defined. This allows the echos and reverbs to present itself. The dynamics are excellent. It's not as thunderous as the XE6 but it gets the job done for aggressive genres like EDM and rock.
BA Bass: Kickdrums are viceral on Three Days Grace. Electric guitars have a satisfying amount of texture. After A/B testing it against the Elysian X, I prefer the quantity on the Impact. Off memory, the sub bass especially was far more present than the Turii Ti.
Mids: This was the highlight for me. Impact has gritty weight to its vocals. It's tonality is on the sweeter side. On my most commonly tested tracks, Lana Del Rey sounds sultry. It captures those tiny nuances (breathes, enunciation) that make it sound more authentic.
Treble: The highs extend well. During Armins - Mirage, synth notes are precicely articulated. If the Treble on the X was a 9.5, Impact would be a 8.5.
Moreover, these technicalities are cohesively weaved in without blur between the frequencies. This is an IEM I can plug in and play with just about anything I listen to and feel confident I will get an enjoyable playback.
It's that questionable friend that seems to do it all.
yes it need more reviews before hit the button .Thanks @Natesdailies for the Impact‘s impression. My current totl iem is the ier-z1r since launch and had look at the VE and Oriolus but the prices have turned me away. This is tempting with the vip offer. Just need some impressions as it will be blind buy if I hit the button.
